Mongolia is such a big country, but nobody really thinks about them. For how little people care, I don't think it deserves to go on in the rankdown. And it always gets overshadowed by, you know, China.

171. Syria

Syria is not a very great place to visit. It's currently in the middle of a civil war where on one side you have the Assad regime, who is backed by Russia and Iran. The regime has used chemical weapons and has a horrible track record when it comes to human rights. Then you have the rebels who started out as a somewhat good group before transforming into a bunch of extremists. And of course ISIS is involved. Overall the conflict has had no shortage of civilian and other massacres. And so Syria, like much of the middle east, is a pretty horrible place right now and therefore it needs to be cut.

#170. Belgium

you know, belgium is a pretty swell place. but with so few countries left and all of the continent of angorra gone it's time to start making some tough decisions. i like belgian waffles as much as the next guy! he doesn't like waffles at all though. from wikipedia: "Belgium is a developed country, with an advanced high-income economy and is categorized as "very high" in the Human Development Index." you hear that? the human development index is calling the belgian population a bunch of stoners and i don't even know if medical marijuana is legal there.

in the end, belgium is a europegan country meaning it obviously has a great entertaining history, just as every europegan country has. but everyone else seems to be cutting europegan countries and i still don't quite get the point of this granker.com thing so im just going to follow the trend and cut another of these europegs.

I was looking down the list for a country to cut and discovered this.
I don't believe we need some band to be masquerading as a country, and it therefore needs cut here.

Although I thought said band was going to look more like this:

165. Suriname

Whenever I think of Latin America, I think of countries like Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela. I do not think of Suriname. Suriname is so bad at being a Latin American country, they don't even speak Spanish or Portuguese. Instead they speak some sort of bizarre bastardized language derived from German that is full of extra Js and doubled letters. I don't know how any person speaking such a weird language can be cool, and a country full of people speaking that language is even less cool.
