i have to say the skill system seems a bit...odd
The active skills are just completely "do whatever you want", while the passives are "choose between these 1200+ skills and don't make any mistakes cause theyre permenant". Is this so the casual gamer is happy just fuffing around trying out all the things, while the hardcore min maxers are pleased with the fact that they can sit down and plan out all 120 something passive point placements?

So I've gotten through Act 1 of PoE, playing a summoning Templar
I feel super overpowered. I (and my zombies) kill everything in one hit. I never use mana pots. And although my life bulb was empty two or three times, I didn't die.
The gear also feels weird. I just keep looking for socket combinations and completely ignoring item stats, which just feels wrong.
Passive tree is kinda fun though, but it feels a bit like stat point allocation in Diablo. Yeah it fundamentally matters to your character, but it seems difficult to do completely wrong.

So tried playing a new league Path of Exile to see what its like
Metamorph is pretty cool, though it further increases my compulsion for full clears.
Don't know if thats good or bad
though with the new system, I feel like I'm swimming in unique items, since you can select organs that are gauranteed uniques quite frequently
at least as compared to previous play

I've decided not to recognize Diablo3 as an actual Diablo game as it makes me feel better that way
Also I stopped playing aRPGs in general because of the massive time sink

i dont mean open world
I'm more on about the time commitment being quite variable
recently been playing games that take a set amount of time so I wont' think "just another level" or "I'll clear the next area"

I have no docket
Until the year of our lord two thousand and eighteen the only PC game I had bought outside of the Diablo series was Warcraft III
I then bought Blood Bowl II, and have only played against the AI because I can't guarantee I will be free the entire stretch of time needed for a game to play against actual people. So that's currently my only PC gaming. Averaging maybe 5 games a week right now, and they're good because they are contained to about an hour.
I guess I also do Table Top Simulator, but that's every two weeks with my gaming group (thanks corona) and maybe once every two months or so with my brother/nephew

d2 has nothing funky like that. I just like ladder better than non-ladder b/c I can make ladder only ruwords. I'm also not worried about ever making it in the lists.
