Steam sales used to include bundles. You'd get these bundles because it had 2-3 games you wanted to play at the price of one full game, but also came with like 6-10 games you'd never heard of.
You also used to not be able to reject gifts, so games like Bad Rats and Hatoful Boyfriend used to get joke-gifted a lot.

Hatoful Boyfriend is a great game tho

I had exactly the same thing with Nier. Everything about the game made me want to play it except uh, actually playing it. It's so incredibly dull most of the time that whenever I do play, I just find myself wishing I was watching someone else play it instead.
