Breach the cavern if you don't already have spores and grow some pig tails for thread but watch out for giant spiders and cave crocs.

Ooh I know this one too it's found as small clusters in granite which is an igneous intrusive stone forming whole layers.

Are there tactical considerations that could keep you from being surrounded? I know nothing about the game's combat.
