Am I the only one who is amazed and loves almost all the new splashes?

As somebody who would've considered themselves a Kayle main for a period of time, I REALLY REALLY like hers, actually. The texture in her wings and in the "bubble" (which is obviously her ult) are the key points, IMO. The armor also looks a lot cooler, by extension same with her portrait.

I found a non-S@20 page with all of the newest splashes being discussed here, and of those my 5 favs are definitely Zilean, Talon, Shen, Veigar and Blitz. Wukong would be one of my least favorites of this new round of splashes, but even that one isn't bad. I don't think it totally "matches", as somebody else said. But meh, NEW ART.

My biggest "qualms" are with Ezreal and Janna - he looks kindof...malicious, maybe because of their pose choice. Janna looks emaciated or ghoulish, probably because of her neck length and considerably creepier eyes. Eugh. :/

TRISTANA SO CUTE NOW. Hope all the Yordles are going in that direction. :3

I don't think it matches the anime-ish-ness of some of the others, but I also think his is the one that least matches his in-game model. The way they positioned him and drew his leg plates in makes him look bulky or even kinda husky, like a monkey version of Gragas with a stick and clouds. Not, I think, what they were going for, but that's what it looks like to me.

In general, IMO, there will always be champs that some people think are ban-worthy, and there will always be champs who MOST people think are ban-worthy, but the exact same things that make them frustrating to play against are the things that make them so much fun ("fun", n. - that thing you should play games for) to play as yourself! Why not relish those times instead of worrying about what happens IF the other team gets X champ that you hate playing against?

Yasuo, for example, has such a high skill cap to me that every time I do get to play him I figure out some new nuance to his Q procs or his W timing or his R range. Fizz was so much fun just to derp around on my first few times, I can't imagine how much fun it would be to actually know what you're doing while troll-polling around the Rift. Kassadin is one who might fit your standard - he was an insta-ban when I first started playing, and I never knew why because I never saw him played (because he was an insta-ban, repeat...). Only now that he's been "nerfed to death" do I see why he's SO MUCH FUN and such a good champ...which he still is.

That being said, I'm going to ban one of those first 2 in 95% of games where the other team doesn't beat me to it.....but no amount of bans from normal players is going to change champs like these to the degree you're asking, to the point where they're completely not-ban-worthy AND completely not-fun. (Yes, I'm implying that, generally, those things go hand in hand.)

I for one wouldn't want to sacrifice one for the other - I'd rather you just keep banning them if you don't want to see them.

BTW there was some comment earlier about somebody "never being excited about Gragas support" and I'd 100% agree, but it's not just Gragas. Most sub-par AP supports I see are people pushed into support who would rather take their champ mid and who don't understand the mechanical differences of taking that champ support instead of mid.

My own pet peeve, Lux, never excites or even gives me positive vibes. Just from a kit and numbers standpoint, she's sub-par in every way to Morgana, and if Morgana is banned you usually need to counter whatever they didn't want Morgana to be around for (usually Thresh/Leona/Braum or other hard engage supports, correct me I'm wrong here).

I'm very much for "I'm not in the mood to play against this" bans, mainly because you can't ban EVERYTHING that's "ZOMG BROKEN CHAMP WTF EZ LANE" using three or even 6 bans - something will always get through. Mobility is king nowadays. It's why Kassadin will always be a God among men, it's why Fizz is an annoying troll or a lovable pro (depending on which team you're on), and it's the easiest thing to ban against, IMO.

Immobile ADCs into Morgana are harder, I'll agree, but her ult requires you sitting near her and STAYING near her to achieve maximum effect, while her Q is pretty slow and televised. If you've laned against her enough to hate her I'd start to memorize its CD and casting animation, or just be ready to strafe out of it like with any skillshot. Not really advice you have to be a high rank to give, I know that stuff and I'm not saying I'm a master of anti-Morgana-ness.

Had a shitty game on Soraka (who I don't play often) into a Morgana earlier tonight, ADC had shit hardware (according to him) and DCed several times, but it wasn't hell. Is it good play to focus a Soraka support in-lane? I found myself the target of most of her harass and poke, mainly Qs, so I got pretty good at dodging them but was surprised more of the focus wasn't on my Lucian. Then again maybe there was silent agreement that they'd each stick to one of us and let me heal him up after trades...? It was odd.

The headpiece is one of the focal points, for sure, but no more to me than Blitz's shiny thumb or Veigar's black-hole-face. It's a large area of monocolor / less detail amidst bad-ass pieces of relative detail.

Just had an amazing game on Lucian, ended 14/2/x - one death in teamfight relatively early on, one right up against Nexus to Ace and allow team to bring it down. Klaz did very well on Amumu, my Braum support was fantastic and completely zoned out a helpless MF and a frustrated Thresh, our LeBlanc wasn't good but she didn't feed the Azir in midlane, and our poor Rumble had to deal with a Darius but he didn't feed either and had second-highest KDA by the end.

Very fun game to end the night on. Klaz and I bought eachother skins for the effort and because Riot's marketing works.

For those interested in critiquing:

I started 21/9/0 and ran flat AD reds, Armor yellows, and MR blues, 1 AS and 2 LS Quints.

Doran's / Pot / Yellow -> Pick / Brut / Potx4 / Greenx1 -> BFS / Boots / Potx4 -> IE / GB / Vamp / Potx3 -> Cutlass / Ionian's / Potx2 -> BotRK -> Pick -> LW / Negatron / Homeguard -> GA

Had a mishap I hotkeying and ended up ranking W to 3 early before Q was lvl. 2 - complete accident, I did mean to lvl Q first.

After that W->E, etc.

Any champ just isn't viable as a non-support if one of their abilities doesn't get used in solo lane. To even get higher sustain off the Q, you don't level the Q, you level the W. So you either lose out on damage or you lose out on sustain, which as a support isn't a problem. Your ult isn't doing much in a solo lane either - 0 power spike.

Skarner could probably use a VU though. Of all the champions I see once in a blue moon from ye olden days, he's the one that still seems to show signs of waddle syndrome, which I thought was the main reason they reworked Twitch and Karthus. Nobody wants to play a champ that doesn't look like it has legs.

If they ever do a Skarner GU though, I dream that he'd be the first champion to kindof climb up on top of terrain - a giant scorpion thing climbing over the treetops on Rift or over the wall of the Dragon arena would be bad-ass.

Tested this. For all you people fearing trolls, it's actually very OUT of Kalista's control how her effective her ult is / WHERE and WHEN the Oathbound is thrown. Which isn't necessarily good; she's even more of team-champ than you'd think given the kit reveal. Kalista presses R, your screen gets an overlay (a la Zilean ult, but Shadow-Isles-ey) and one of those range / AoE indicators popped up all over the screen, and if you don't press anything you just sit there, if you do press something you go BISSSSHHHHOOOOOM and you bloop up in that direction at the range and you knockup within the AoE.

I'm telling you what I saw, not what "should" be in the game: in a Custom I placed one down and in 16 minutes or so it didn't go away (there were no enemy champions and it was away from minions). If it does have a timer it's insanely long AND there is no display for the timer like on other "minions" etc. OR (big IF on this) I somehow didn't notice it despawn when the aforementioned invisible timer ended.

I only got Evelynn's because of people talking about it here and I only got Mordekaiser's because I recognized the Metallica reference.

Very fun game in which Klaz and I yoloed on two very new champs (to the game and to us) and ended up hard-carrying anyway. Blitz admittedly stole a bunch of both of our kills, which is impressive in that we STILL have more than him. Proud of highest CS / KDA in-game, and though I see now that the Malz went full troll (possibly right before we blew their Nexus), he wasn't an awful support. They pushed our tower like nobody's business but Klaz was right in something he said in pre-game: a Blitz nuke post-Kalista-ult is an awful combination. Add that to the target proc on my AAs within 1.5 seconds of his ult and poor Tristana just died in midair while stunned.

The game mode is on Howling Abyss, but the "R" in "ARAM" is replaced by a normal banning phase and then simultaneous picks for both teams. Picks are revealed after everybody's chosen and locked in. Summoner Spells are replaced by two buttons on low CD: one tosses a poro in a LONG, THIN straight-line skill-shot, the other comes later. If you hit an enemy (champ or minion) with the skill shot, you get 1 team-wide "Poro Point". At 10 Poro Points a giant, crowned poro called the Poro King Panth-ults onto the map nearby and you briefly have him just push into the enemy turret or attack things nearby. He is melee but drops explosive poros every once in awhile a la GP-ult in an AoE around him. That second button I mentioned? It acts as a TP to King Poro if he's yours and isn't dead yet.

Awesome game - that was our second one with 2 guys who we met randomly in Team Builder. Never met more team-oriented, non-flamey people. They also fit perfectly into our "main" teamcomp. Both are support "mains" like me who play the roles we don't have as much practice in. We have a Ranked Team with them an Ani now.

After you get the actual Manamune item it stacks off of AAs, so it's inherently more useful for Marksman I'd think. (more range = more things to AA?) After that, it's much more useful on caster/ADCs because of the Mana stat, which is what you're paying the most for. Fiora doesn't really get anything from building Mana.

tl;dr I'd say no, not even a sub-par item on Fiora.

I agree with Panzer, actually, but not for the exact same reasons he has. More than aiming for an "ideal teamcomp", the reason I dislike most Mage supports is that they simply can't do the same things that the more "meta" supports can. Yes, Zyra can initiate, yes she can poke, but when I'm facing something that can do those exact same things at least as well as her AND scale well to be tanky or a fighter/initiator or whatever, I wanna know she brings something to the table that the other support doesn't. If that were true of Zyra and other off-meta supports, she would be meta. Simple as that.

I'm never going to be happy with somebody who picks Lux over Morgana if they have the opportunity (unless they've played 5,000 games on her or some shit) because Morgana is just straight up better than Lux, even / especially if you want to have an auxiliary AP carry. Yes, Lux has a snare. Yes, she has an AoE spell to combo with her snare. Yes, she has a shield and a nice ult. But not only does Morgana have a better snare and a better AoE spell, her ult and her shield have more utility and that is why she's a meta pick and Lux is not.

If you say you're THAT much more experienced on a champ that you'll do significantly better on something that's off-meta, I'm gonna wonder whether you're supposed to be in my division and then I'm going to think you're trolling. Sorry. IMO, there's no real reason to pick Gragas over something like Alistair; there's no real reason to pick something like Lux over Morgana; and I'd even prefer a Karma to a Zyra. That's just my opinion.

So, I just finished my placements (5/5) and I did a couple of my games less-than-sober so I'm not surprised or that upset by the fact that I'm a Bronzie with quadz, et. al.

BUT

I couldn't've finished those 10 matches with a better game. I panic-picked Kayle as a JoaT since we didn't know where our Miss Fortune was going - turned out she had DCed from chat and couldn't answer but we didn't know that. I used to practically main MidKayle last season and I did well, so that's what I did this game.

I finished my placements with a 24-minute game where our opponents didn't surrender. Jarvan and I kept perfect control over 3 Dragons; we didn't lose a single tower; I beat the Kassadin I was laning against in every way possible, and I never died - ending with an 11-kill streak. Glorious feeling. Can't wait to derp around and maybe climb out later on in the season.

Her passive prevents you from moving once you've started the auto-attack animation, and you'll do a little hop right after it's finished if you can time your movements correctly. It's totally not shitty. It takes 5-10 minutes, costs you nothing, AND you get free stuff. If you don't want free stuff, don't do it. They're just doing it for exposure or ad revenue or something - who knows; who cares. It's not their obligation to make a *reward* something that every single person can get in the blink of an eye without any effort whatsoever. That's why they should call it a reward. (P.S. THIS GAME!!!

Best KDA and CS in game, first to fullbuild (I bought 2 Elixirs),
along with 2 solo Dragons + 2 enemy jungler kills at Dragon

I upgraded and used Trinket quite a bit for permanent vision (Pink upgrade probably not best but it worked just fine because they sucked at clearing them) and I ended up getting an S+! Best part: it was Ranked, so +30 puntos para mi!

Anybody know of a way to quickly install League (e.g. fully-patched 1-time download "installer" app) without using the in-client patcher? It takes an insane amount of time from a fresh download off the main League site and the main alternative I've seen suggested includes a 3-rd party client I don't want ("Garena+") and it doesn't even work.
