I am kinda digging smite as a support honestly. I have been practicing Ali supp with the movement reduction smite.

I still think that exhaust is superior. Longer CD, but it doesn't cost gold or an item slot.

I play kalista, she was a lot of fun but ultimately I don't feel she is very good. She has "Ashe Disease" except she has two "missing" moves and one is her Ult. She doesn't have very much control over the ult, it only hits one person and it is almost essential that you be skyping with the person you are soulbound to.

I don't think Kalista is a good solo queue champion, and I don't think she ever will be unless they change her ult completely. *shrug*

I think it has a lot to with Kalista having a very high skill floor, and because her ult can totally throw off another player's rhythm when they aren't communicating with one another (which solo queue teammates just really can't do effectively enough in teamfights). Doesn't correlate to good low-elo / solo queue winrates, I'd think.

Previous year in the ranked games I played a bunch of Gragas support. I like it, but I get it, people think you are trolling and get hostile very easily. Fine, professional risk picking that champ and all.

But when did Zyra become a Gragas-tier support? That was the champ that got me over the final hurdle last season, made my final ranking then possible. Played three ranked games with her now and the amount of hostility that spawns from just that pick is insane. It's not even that she has a bad winrate or anything.

I may be misunderstanding your question, but it has a lot to do with what stage in the game you're at and if you're winning or losing. If you're behind, you want to CS more than you want to try to get kills (generally speaking) - you're not going to win fights, so you're just going to feed kills instead of get them. If you're winning, you may want to try to force fights more often than you would otherwise, as you're more likely to win them.

Your second question is extremely general - someone more knowledgeable than me could write a whole essay on lane match-ups, simply because of the differences in each lane and the sheer number of champions you could pick in any of them.

I rarely jungle, but when I support I've been buying ss later and later.

Bascially, I'm high-bronze low-silver, to give you perspective. I find a pink and my totem and MAYBE one more ward is plenty to keep me and the lane partner safe in lane. Then I pour that 800-odd gold into more combat stats and prove that I own this lane. Note that I usually play Leona or Blitz and like to fight often in lane, so it's probably a product of how I play.

I have been finding the "rush gold item level 2, rush sightstone, then gold item level 3" to be REALLY lackluster as a support. It basically trades out all combat effectiveness for the first 15 minutes or so. I dunno, could be wrong, certainly don't main support, certainly not a good player overall.

Rush sightstone > gold 2 (maybe switch order) > combat stats > gold 3 eventually maybe, is how I do it. (If I'm playing with a spellthief's, I don't even bother with level 2.) You want that sightstone for the mid/lategame more than almost any other item - vision control is the single most important part of keeping your dumbass bronze teammates alive.
