I would've recommended 9P9N9D but I have not played it.

Also Unwound Future is the only Professor Layton I've played but I think it's the least cared about and it's still pretty good so

It's not a gaming laptop, it's gaming on a laptop. I'm still not at a place in my life where I can afford to haul a PC tower/monitor around, so I have to get as close as I can :(

Unwound Future is what every game in the series should have been.

Throw Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story onto the list of DS games. If you can find M&L: Superstar Saga, play it first; if not, whichever. Also, Mario Kart DS was pretty good.

If you're in to Pokemon, Heart Gold/Soul Silver and Pearl/Diamond/Platinum are both on the DS (Not sure about Black and White). There's also a bunch of Final Fantasy rereleases, and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.

Shadow Dragon is, to me, easily the worst FE that has come out in North America because it's a remake of the first game ever made in the series, and it shows.

Huh, I've been playing shadow dragon and have been unimpressed. This explains a lot.

Oh I played This War of Mine today. I...seriously need some fucking hugs. This game is super dark and I don't know how to play it better without ruining lives.

Shadow Dragon is a lot more interesting when you kill off all your units and play with the generic replacements.

So, I was cleaning out my closet a few minutes ago and I found my stash of DS games. I guess I'll just post it here.

Spoiler: picture
Image

Solitaire, Brain Age and Bejeweled were both hand-offs from my grandma, and some of these games are not very good at all(Golden Sun, Phantasy Star, Sonic Chronicles by some definitions), but otherwise say I've fully enjoyed all these games. Meteos is a big hit people miss all the time and is a really fun puzzle game, Nostalgia is a JRPG with a lot of promise that had some glaring flaws, Castlevanias are all Metroidvanias at their most polished(although not the
best
Metroidvania, which goes to this game), Rune Factory is fun if you like waifu simulators.

The GBA Golden Suns were excellent RPGs, but I hear mixed things about Dark Dawn.

Dark Dawn is like they took everything bad about the original Golden Suns(long unskippable boring dialogue, stupid protagonists), traveled back to 1989 and took all the worst things from JRPGs of the era(useless storylines, common points of no return) then decided to add in the typical anime bullshit of introducing THE FORGOTTEN FIFTH ELEMENT which pretty much doesn't make sense given the original storyline(or world, in the like 30 years since the end of the last Golden Sun, the entire world was rearranged to not look at all similar to the last game--come on, even Tales of Symphonia/Phantasia did this right and they were recursive canon!).

Did I mention the plot is incredibly stupid and downright insulting at points? And the characters likely all have extreme mental deficiencies(or are boring robots with three lines).

The game sucks, and I hate it. I was never the biggest fan of the original Golden Suns, but they actually had effort put into them and were enjoyable in some measures. This wasn't in the slightest. The game itself plays fine, but that just makes it worse(see: Sonic Chronicles, a game that has incredibly stilted gameplay that manages to make the tangled mess of a game enjoyable due to it's flaws).

Everything Natirasha said in the above post is true. At least the last area was kind of cool, and Tyrell started to go genre savvy at some of the stupidity at one point.

(For what it's worth, Golden Sun is all about the long unskippable dialogue, but at least in the first two games it was interesting.)

I'd say that
any
game is more interesting when you play it within the constraints of a challenge

Guys, get on steam if you can afford this game. It's amazing. It's so fuckin' great. Best 9 hours I've put into a game so far. I'm donating to War Child too, because fuck war, man.

Um...every game is this.

Every game is either appealing to your emotions or appealing to a sense of fun (which I guess is kiiiind of the same).

Every movie is the same.

You are a fan of everything.
