Me, jd, peg, zito, and I think BBM played with Morello and other various important riot people(a couple legal guys) a long time ago. We kicked the shit out of them Me and bitz just smurf smashed a rioters in ranked a week before bard released. I've also beat Hackee and StephanosRex. All of them were bad.

My (possibly) future brother-in-law is friends with rivington and has drunk leagued with him.

Everyone in that game is at the same ELO by some combination of their game sense and their mechanical play. If you're feeding because your mechanics suck, logically you have the most game sense in that game.

In high elo that may be the case, however it isn't so in low elo.

She wanted us to group mid against a Diana, Sona, Fiora, Graves and Hecarim.

The very obvious con, all the fucking AoE in the world, all this while they have a massive gold lead, and a couple of dragons.

But is the alternative to let them 5 push your towers while people farm side lanes? If they are grouping, you need to group. That's the bottom line.

It's less of an assumption and more just saying there is context to everything. Were people getting caught out? Why was the answer group? What was the alternative to grouping? Also with your explanation it makes it sound like you were splitting while your team is grouping, which isn't the right thing when you're losing.

League is a game with a shit load of variables and almost everything is contextual which is why it's really hard to get good

I agree, I'm split a lot when I'm carry(or any time really), but not when their fed team is knocking down an entire lane because we are undermanned.

Corki is the most tiring urf champ I've played so far. His e comes up before it stops shooting so you should be pressing e on cooldown. Add Q and R in and you have a champ that needs to always be hitting a button.

That doesn't really have much to do with it because no one complained when top had a lot of strong tanks(which it still does) it's that for as long as I've been playing league (which has basically been since their was meta)the jungle has never been balanced. One type of guy has always been dominate and pushed everyone else out of the meta. Only two "damage" junglers are any good right now and both are still behind the top tier tanks. Basically jungle meta has been stale for 4 years, it's just stale in a different direction every year.

They tend to nerf anything that isn't being used for its intended purpose. The flash example is weird because the game is actually balanced around flash. Changing flash or removing it would flip the game on its head.

In post 40647, mykonian wrote:No. Issue is that you need to create time. Not any tank can run it, you need that and waveclear to bugger off and do some jungle. Tanks that tend to build sunfire top that weren't top tier in the last top tank meta are champions that require help pushing the lane anyway. You can't do it with shen. You are just going to be sitting there with a fancy summoner, clearing waves that are pushed into your tower.

So... bruisers with good/great early waveclear. Shyv, Renekton, Pony, sion maybe, gangplank maybe, garen maybe and after that zac becomes even more awkward. I don't even know if that still counts. Of that list I only play zac. So perhaps it is strong, but it is narrow, and 3 of the 7 champs I named aren't in meta toplaners anyway for all kinds of good reasons.

Say silver sion doing it last night. He died level 1 to golems. I fortunately helped him by killing his laner at 3. Steamroller victory.

Man, I really don't know why people play nasus, he's a real shit champion. Apparently in High elo games, he has a 52% win rate? Ridiculous. In my trashcan fire elo bracket, I've never seen a nasus that shouldn't just get unceremoniously dumpstered.

Most Nasus players think they live in a bubble. Unfortunately this often means a 4v5 at objectives while the Nasus is *still* farming.

But what matchup does nasus win? I can't think of one.

Alright, this might be a question because I'm white, but is roleplaying as someone that looks like yourself important? I've never ever ever played a character that looks like myself intentionally in any game(intentionally meaning, if I played a big white guy I played it for reasons other than "he's the big white guy"), and any time I'm allowed to make a character, I never ever ever make it look like me.

So, I'm at most, 4 games away from being the 5 time 5 time 5 time 5 time 5 time North American champion of silver. What should be my next goal? A hollow and mostly unmotivated run at platinum, leveling up a smurf and bombing it, or trying to find some kind of fun in league? Or quit. Quit is an option too.

If I remember correctly, doesn't Riot pay well below market for the positions that they offer? Also, is this office still in santa monica? Because those two things are enough to not work for riot, regardless of how cool the office is(unless you sleeping in dorms at the office). Not to mention that LA smells like a car fire. I basically hold my breath from Santa Ana until about Malibu Canyon whenver I drive through.

I suspect you've never lived in or around LA before. A few years ago, the talk was that they were paying significantly below market. Also, what "west side" are you talking about. Santa Monica is pretty fucking west.

I lived in Fullerton for a while. Depends on which part of west LA you're talkign about. Most of it is either prohibitively expensive, or not very nice to live in. Also, the entire city smells disgusting. From the pier all the way out to San Bernardino smells like asshole.

So with a combination of thread suggestions and my own personal preference I'm maining these 5 champs for the foreseeable future:
Olaf
Urgot, Ahri, Skarner, Kalista,
bard
Velkoz

I played bard twice last night and my adc just kept dying like crazy. It wasn't really anything I was doing wrong, it was just that I had no way to save him and no way to discourage the enemy from killing him.

Lol hito, do my wards.

@voided, builds and item order are on a champ by champ basis. I can think of more than one mana champ that doesn't want Morello or Athene first. It's best to look up popular high elo builds, think about why it works/if you can accomplish that goal with your skill set and go from there.

AD pen runes are not good anymore. Like 3 years ago, they were the thing, they nerfed them, and they are not worth it anymore. Just go Flat AD. Every adc in the whole game basically wants ad reds, armor yellows, some kind of mr blues, and 2 AS quints with an AD quint(although most times I just go full ad Quints and it never really effects my performance).

All the top laners I can think of just want flat ad reds and flat ad quints. Some guys like 1 crit chance rune, but that's preference more than something that is needed.

You
don't
want the skins team working on bugs. They have no or very little idea on how to code and would probably just make the game worse. It's comments like these that make me rage, because it shows how little people actually know about the industry as a whole.

You're an idiot animorph. An inordinate amount funds goes to the art teams, that do ridiculous amounts of shit that doesn't even get used and towards creating little 14 dollar skins to sell that could be being directed towards hiring people that fix bugs, qa, ect. The allocation of funds is directed towards selling micro-purchases and not creating a game that you can reliably login to play.

SEXIST PIG

i wish it were okay for me to use strategy before the game gets boring

By strategy he means knowing when to take objectives and things like that.

Until you climb a little, the average player won't know what's up, so even if you "know" the right play, you'll end up doing it alone and not realize it enough of the time that it'll really frustrate you.

This is more or less the real reason not to learn strategy yet. Once you start getting towards 30, you start essentially learning "the rules". If you're only playing with a bunch of people that only have 30 or so games under their belt, "the rules" don't exist, so the strategy doesn't really exist, because you aren't playing by the same rules as us yet. And you will, you will definitely end up angry and impotent like the rest of us, but right now, learn to smart cast, move your camera, just practice with guys that don't have to land a bunch of skills to be effective, learn to look at the minimap, practice killing minions.

The really really good thing about Cho is you can also play him as a mega durable mage. Ryze is not a fighter and Lux is not a support. Lux is a long range mage. She is a decent pick up.

They should make it easier to get to 30. The existence of bots is because it takes months to get to 30, so people would rather buy a 30 then try to make one.

On smurfing, some people define smurfing as not really smurfing - basically saying it's anything below their rank. To me you're not smurfing unless you're in a division you can win 65% or more of your games, which I would say is about a tier under your division. If your gold 5 and trying to get second account to g5, by the time your in s2 or s3, you aren't smurfing anymore - you're playing at the bottom end of your skill bracket. Me and the artist formerly known as lil g are currently duo smurfing in very low bronze and we are basically some unholy combination of pippen-jordan meets jet li-Jackie Chan all thrown in the Michael Bay movie that is bronze. It's 2 and a half tiers below my skill level and it's immediately apparent despite my hilarious bad habit of getting my self killed under enemy tower early in laning. Even in my non-duo games, as long as my team isn't actively sabotaging me, I'm going to win despite my shitty team doing their shitty thing. That's smurfing. If you can't win the borderline unwinnable games, you're not actually smurfing. Period.

So after some self-reflection, I have realized that I am ELO hell. The boostin, ragin, smurfin, leavin, stylin, profilin, limousine ridin, jet flyin, kiss stealin, whelin n dealin scourge of somewhere between 750 to 1650 elo. So if you're in between bronze 5 and mid gold, proceed with caution. I'm might be there, waiting to ensure you have a bad game of league of legends.

Honestly the deeper in bronze you go the harder it is to win without a duo who is also good. I went 6-6 in bronze 3 at one point. Some of it was shananigans and some of it was a mixture of fatigue and inability to get ahead fast. The closer to silver you are though the easier it is to play right and win. I honestly think best bet in those bronze 3 and 4 games is to pick trynd or jax or yi and try to kill everyone.

Excluding Bard, I can't remember the last time a champion was released in any kind of balanced state.

Lately they've been releasing them undertuned at least. Better than the not so glory days of 2012 when basically every champ was bugged and/or incredibly overpowered to the tune of 60% win rates. The main problem now is they knee jerk buff them and it brings them a little too high, which is when they centralize the meta around themselves. Out of the last 7 champs that came out, I want to say only Rek'Sai and Braum were day 1 power houses. Unless we count rework Sion and probably rework Ashe. But yeah: Gnar, Kalista,
Velkoz
, Azir, and Bard all got buffs after release.

Edit: 2012 was definitely the worst for guys being OP on release I think, but it wasn't like it was every single time then either. But Nami, Syndra, and Sejuani don't cancel out Darius, Zyra, Diana, Lulu, Rengar, ect.

But only three champs in 2 years have been insanely OP on release...

3 out of 10 ain't bad. The thing they did with Yasuo and Lucian was give them baby buffs and a bunch of bug fixes and that's when they became OP. Aatrox was strong but not overly so. They left him untouched for 6 patches. Jinx, Rek'Sai, and Braum were all OP but even out of those 3 only, Only Jinx was really notable unbalanced.

2 caveats on my opinion of Ashe, played her only 1 time and played her against significantly outclassed competition.

Aside from that, she seems ridiculously OP. I feel she already had a claim to the best ADC title and now she gets to double her slow and steroid smash you? And both Volley and Hawkshot are better moves? She basically a tank disintegrating, all seeing, team slowing, opportunistic engaging beast of a carry. She's the ric flair of ADCs. She's the girl with the golden spoon. Wooooooo

I also don't think her slow got worse early, because it's always on and she gets free critical chance that's also always on. So it's probably better if you can orbwalk.

I never said she was bad? I said she was already probably the best? And I agree she never was explicitly bad but she was weak when the Meta revolved around the early game smashers, especially when blue side could do golems.

I like the tighter volley, gives it better range when cleaning up.

I've gotten out of bronze solo queue on NA(which is a higher skill level server) on several accounts. I basically select my champ at random and win basically every game. If you aren't bronze skill, you'll get out. It's that simple. Play your best champs.

I have my money on the bronze guy with 200 Fizz games over the bronze guy who picks tito against darius "because it's a good match up". Have a best guy for every role and play that guy always. That's how you get out of bronze. A gold guy should never play his best guy in bronze, it's disrespectful and not fun. Why go 25/0 with jax when 15/3 with gangplank gets me there?

I personally think it's the same concentration of rudeness. I personally find silver to be the most toxic. Bronze and low gold are decent levels of toxicity, after that I think it gets nicer until the tier barriers. I was simply flaming maestro because he hasn't been playing long enough to state one way or the other. The one definitive thing that is less toxic is the highest level players. Before guys like hotshot gg could say whatever, now because of streams spotlights and lcs, they are much more well behaved.

Plat is the most toxic in the game.

The one definitive thing that is less toxic is the highest level players. Before guys like hotshot gg could say whatever, now because of streams spotlights and lcs, they are much more well behaved.

I disagree.

I heard low plat was pretty chill. Also pro subs are Def nicer than they used to be.

Everyone has to give it up early to renekton. He's like darius. Strong early game that you have to try to stay away from unless you're a super tank. Farm as best you can, keep it close, wait to outscale.

That doesn't explain why she disappeared without any changes to her after she was being played relatively frequently in bot lane. Is it simply because people started running mid laners in bot lane?

Not arguing that the skill level to get gold has definitely gone down, because it's true that it has. And of course it's boosted a lot, rewards. But someone who got gold legit, is still a damn good player. They are inconsistent but they generally are a lot better than career silver players.

First you have to hit 30, which will probably take you past july 1st. Then you have to PROBABLY win a bunch of ranked games in a row, which should be really hard for a brand new player.

This is weirdly on topic, but My theory on how I should play to get to plat and how I should play to boost my friends out of bronze or silver are polar opposites. I feel to get out of bronze/silver you need to do it yourself, but to get out of gold you can rise by simply not being a feeding idiot. Is this true or is this indicative of a lack of confidence?

Yeah, that's basically what I'm saying. I'm confident that I don't have to race the fed guy in middle gold, so I can just farm, play safe, push if my guy goes back wrong, control the lane, and make sure I show up to objectives and that's typically enough to get the job done. I'm not sure if that's the best way to do business or if I'm doing it that way because I'm not confident enough to smash and grab gold guys.

Your top 3 most played champions in ranked games this season are: Vi, Ashe, Amumu
Recently, you have played: Vayne, Yorick, Garen, Vi, Darius, Hecarim, Tryndamere, Sona, Diana, Karma
Based on your personal records in comparison with hundreds of thousands of other players using data mining techniques, I will make the following suggestions:
Champions you might want to try: Jinx, Graves, Leona
Other champions you might want to try: Master Yi, Sejuani, Teemo, Shyvana, Yasuo, Draven, Soraka

Can I send these suggestions back?

ELO on audiotsunami is a weird smorgasbord. Getting Silver 1s and Plat 5s and the entire candy jar of gold players. Last game I literally had 2 plat 5's a silver 1 and Every level of gold. in 1 game.

In post 42038, ~Jordan` wrote:its really amazing how much people care about this game

It's the same with 'other' sports. Like, the amount of work put in to make things like soccer and football not just big but
really important
- something to fight or riot or start ddos attacks over - is just one of the strangest things about people to me. It's not enough to just point at competition and how we crave it, because there are loads of domains that don't have to become multi-million dollar industries in order to be important. But on the other hand I can't imagine these games being fun if they aren't done against other people. LoL against AI for example just doesn't have the replay value.

It seems that at first we just like something; we do it because it's enjoyable - it's fun. Then the incentives introduced by competition make us do something to get better at it. But things like the experience of mastery and dominance that come with getting better - that's enjoyable too. So a lot of things about the thing turn out to be enjoyable. And then somewhere along the way we care about the thing a lot more than we care about most other things. We implicitly worship and pay massive salaries to people who are really good at the thing. Children grow up devoting themselves solely to the thing; families are held together by their commitment to the thing. And the really amazing thing is what the thing turns out to be - like a hodgepodge of rules organized around premises like getting a ball into a basket or past a net. When we played versions of these games in middle school science to review to a test, we got into it, passionate about which team would win, 'knowing' it was silly to get so into it but enjoying it more that way. But that sort of self-consciousness disappears once a game becomes a sport. The thing becomes...important.

That's not to say I don't think it's okay for the thing to become important. Very few things aren't important so contingently. The guy behind the pictures for sad children comics once had one (accurately) mocking our investment in and the arbitrarity of sports, but also had many doing the same thing to art, music, and all sorts of things we've decided might be even more important than sports. But the whole process really is amazing.

Quick PSA because I've seen some outrage on pool party zac is a 1350 skin: water is really fucking hard to animate guys. And they had to completely reanimate him because goo =/= water. So as much as I hate how much resources and time they spend designing and rendering skins, anything significantly water is gonna be 1350 or higher. I really wish they'd let me log in in less than 3 tries though instead of putting out 5 chromas and 5 skins.

I believe Panzer already owns all the champs.

Then he'd get a mystery skin.

Also, anyone who got disciplined for behavior is ineligible regardless.

Oh, skin? Cool, 2 rewards.

Also, I've never been disciplined for behavior. I actually held a green ribbon for a while. Teamwork badge. Said I was "a valued member of the community"

I'm not saying I belong in a higher rank. But the people you get in Silver are just awful. A couple games ago I was jungling, Vayne leeched gromp xp and then every lane died before my first clear. I hate playing support because no matter how well I do, support can't carry and my team mates are always idiots. But I'm not good enough at any other role to excel.

Fuck. I mean, I'm 24-38 in ranked. I'm just getting so sick of it.

On the account I'm boosting, I've been stuck in silver 3-4 for a while simply because variance is crazy. Being near launching point is just not fun. Like I know I should be carrying because I'm the best player in those games by a fair margin but I can't help fresh face Ahri getting her first taste of mid silver fuckery, while also trying to just make it through lane with a support that doesn't want to be there.

In short, don't let the fuckbois keep you down. Just try to make lemonade out of lemons. Your teammates aren't trying to fuck you, they just can't help you. Which sucks but it's just the way the game works.

As one of the Rioters on the forum thread said:

"Just make a fake account. You won't hurt anybody's feelings."

It's totally not shitty. It takes 5-10 minutes, costs you nothing, AND you get free stuff. If you don't want free stuff, don't do it. They're just doing it for exposure or ad revenue or something - who knows; who cares. It's not their obligation to make a *reward* something that every single person can get in the blink of an eye without any effort whatsoever. That's why they should call it a reward. (P.S. You only need it linked for ~24 hours between the 21st and the 27th, or something like that. Timing and dates are in the comments. Find the red post checker.)

Also, Ani, unless you own all champions, you'll get a Mystery Champion, not a skin.

I have to play the games to get the rewards(that's why it's called a reward, cause you have to earn the points. That's the work). I shouldn't have to do anything else, including make AN ADDITIONAL ACCOUNT TO ANOTHER WEBSITE in order to get my IN-GAME rewards. Also what if I have 2 accounts? or 3 accounts? I have to make 2 additional accounts? What if I don't have 2 extra email addresses just kicking around to sign up to facebook? I have 2 make 2 more email addresses too? And I definitely care. They are doing it for advertising, which is why they ever linked it to facebook in the first place.

I like Ashe a lot less now that she doesn't multi-stack on volley but I still think she is really good.

MF + Janna is a really great lane. I think MF not being good against Vayne is an exaggeration. Sure, Graves is better but MF still kicks Vayne's ass most of the time.

I think it's weird that Psyche never sees Sivir because she is a 450 ip champion.
I think I should keep practicing Kalista on my main or make a concerted effort to add Draven to my champion pool.

Didn't you play Lucian in your plat series? Talk about an underpowered champion. He's a worse MF at this point.

Depends on how you operate. Anytime I sit down to play, I get progessively worse as the session wears on. My first game is always lights out. This probably has to do with fatigue and waning interest as the minutes playing wear on. If it were me, I definitely would say ranked first but who knows.

Depends on difference in stack time and damage and whether or not a better build path comes up that favors tiger vs phoenix. It definitely makes udyr a lot better and he's already good.

Disclaimer: I was good with her before rework and I just enjoy her, even though I play her sparingly now.

Her kit is solid. It has an escape, a peel and a steroid. E is cool harassing tool and really really takes down turrets fast. In any situation where you're allowed to attack a tower without intervention only 2-3 seconds away, you'll almost always get the tower. If your splitting while your team is siege, that's at least 1 tower. She pushes as fast as sivir or jinx but takes the tower twice as fast. She can also escape a lot of situations where a couple people are trying to stop you. She also has a crazy all-in during lane phase when combined with the usual suspects for that playstyles. I think she is balanced but the problem is balanced = underpowered.

10% win rate rise is huge. Also got gold stomped by one and it felt very hard to deal with.

Supports mains only go to bronze or Diamond man. If you catch the bounce up, you can basically ride it all the way up.
