How do you guys build Shen?

I ask only because I have found that I never build him the same. Like when I have something else on my team that is tanky like a Vlad mid or a Rammus jungle or a heap of hard to kill champs I'll start building him AS Off Tank for no reason other than I've been told previously that Wit's End is a great item for him when played from top and it creates some item synergy. Also had a game recently against a Karthus and Vlad so I built myself that new Maw item that build out of hex. We lost the game but I was actually able to give out some damage because my carries were playing like shit. Also, I usually get a HoG to help with gold as it gives me freedom to go gank without losing out on gold overmuch. So should I be building that into Solari or Randuin's?

So apparently there is a new type of Ultimate Bravery called Nightmare. Where you get ultimate bravery sets but also have to complete objectives as well.

Just did two of those. Managed to make it past 35 minutes both times. In the first we had to say CHANGE PLACES every five minutes and go to a random lane. So only junglers can gank and you sometimes end up with noone in a lane.

And the second one, Save the Queen. One person can't die but they must stay within one level of everyone else. We made it to 40 minutes, I was the queen as Kayle. Managed to not die and pick up a triple kill as well.

I listen to a Spanish DJ named Henry Saiz while playing. He has mixes that run for over an hour which is perfect for playing.

When I'm not listening to that I find 90s trance/dance music works really well too.

You don't want anything with too many lyrics otherwise you get distracted.

That's not really the Mundo meta any more, Mundo Jungle goes AD which is where I seem to see him nowadays. Naturally with the build I use you don't get them in that order and You can swap Rylai's for Warmogs if you want, the extra slow really is nice though. Shame the AP is only useful on his aura.

Most loltastic game just now. Everyone except their Ashe and our blitz DCed at least once. We won because of a DCed Brand feeding me meant I was able to burst their fed Ashe (Of DCed Cait AND Soraka) (btw all these feeding things mean they died because of DC more than once.) before she could rape our team in teamfights.

Theory crafting time. So you get your boots, philo and HoG for your Sona in lane.

What do you do afterwards? Because you aren't really going to be going tanky, You're just expected to get the Aegis and shit like that. The thing with Sona is that she is so very mana hungry I've started getting a Tear as the next item. The issue then is, what to do with it. Just had a game where I finished with Shurelia's, Locket, Mercs, Manamune, Archangels. With my Q I was over 200 Attack and I had over 100 AP and was able to actually provide damage while sending out heals to everyone as I was then close enough to help the tanks as well because I had the damage to warrant my being there.

I know it seems a bit stupid to begin with, however if your team is doing fine without you grabbing an Aegis or a Frozen Heart or whatever people get on supports these days, why not?

I'm actually looking for a fun jungler. Skarner is fun but I just don't 'get' him in the same way I 'get' Cait and I 'get' Kayle. Udyr is amazing fun and he's strong but I feel like he just runs around doing absolutely nothing if he doesn't get fed because Phoenix is so inferior to Tiger outside of jungle. Trundle is awesome but he's quite finnicky and requires you to play him all the time to be able to keep up with placement of his pillar and you have to always pay attention to get the most DPS. Yi is just retarded because he's Yi. Malphite is pro, but not really fun. Ali gets boring.

I just want to find a jungler that is tons of fun, good, and doesn't get old. (btw I've never played Lee Sin or Noc, should I try them?)

Depends on the champ. I like Bloodthirster first on champs that can duel or need to be closer like Graves or Trist, otherwise I like to go for IE first. Generally though I will get a vamp while I'm building my IE and saving up for the BF sword and such.

I've done a few different kayle builds in a few different lanes.

She works much better with full CDR blues as then she can grab some different items and still have permanent ranged AA. That said I usually play her in mid or top. What do you go for first at bot? because then you have to go pretty much full AD. :/ Would you rush Brut for Pen and CDR and then go into more standard stuff?

What runes did you run? I just don't see her being overly effective if she has to suffer from not having perma range. If you're going full AD you're going to be squishy, you aren't going to want to 'enter the fray' so much. The utility range gives you would mean alot I would think.

I did it once because of a communication breakdown in team select where we all thought ali was going jungle because he didn't talk ro change summoners until after I picked. It was against trynd and basically our jungle camped the lane and we had the tower down by 8 minutes.

Still wouldn't try it again.

The thing I like about malphite is that he is one of the easiest junglers to transition.

Stonewall's recent measurement system seems to work well for Malphite. He's a cheap jungler, with low risk and good ganking. He might not be the best jungler but he's still very easy to do. I can clear jungle with pretty much full hp using only two of my 5 pots. And that's when I don't wait for my shield and just run straight in. He's really good at catching out champs trying to steal his stuff as he can keep them locked down until the laners can come and nab the kill.

Pretty much atm my junglers that I like playing the most are Malphite for tanky, rammus when I can, and troll for a bit more offensive. I should probably learn one of the high speed and high damage junglers but I really hate p-laying those kind of champs. I just don't have the killer instinct.

Also starting a list of bands that I can stick on for when I play each champ.

Also I think part of the reason why people get Zerkers is that you don't want to waste the gold on MR in a lane that is mainly AD (bar a Sona raping your ass.) I've never likes swiftness boots on carries because you get extra speed from Double Swords anyway. You get caught you're dead anyway.

I just get Zerkers without thinking most of the time because cheap and gives me a useful stat for laning over the other options.

In addition I've seen quite a few players grabbing zerkers on their carry then selling them later for mercs.

Guys. I just pulled off the 5v1. You go into a custom game by yourself and get 5 random bots on the other team and you play 5v1.

This was my third try. After already trying Jarvin and Teemo I went with Heimer and pulled off the win in a few seconds shy of 28 minutes. The challenge has been laid down. Also kills don't win it for you. I only got 8 kills.

Kayle is a very self sufficient carry. As in she can take care of herself and needs a bit less taking care of. For example in ateamfight, when you get jumped to have the ability to hold on until your teammates can peel attackers off you if they miss it the first time which is a really big deal in solo queue.

So I have played a total of two games recently with Kat. One was in a MS premade where I got stuck against a Ren and managed to survive and do well. And the other happened earlier today. I thought I'd be in top lane against a Shen. So I decided to take a slow to start hypercarry to make the most of his weak damage early. So I put it to my team. Kat or Trynd. They told me to play Kat so I did. But then it all started going sour and their Shen turned out to be a support Shen. I got stuck against a Lee Sin. I almost shat myself. However he wasn't a very great Lee Sin. I managed to coax him into tower diving me at level 6 and managed to narrowly kill him with about 40 health left. I was off to a decent start. And then it just started going well. I picked up a few kills as the laning phase dissolved and things went well.

All in all, Kat is fun against bad people who give you an opportunity. It's amazing how many lame predictable shunpo jukes work.

AP Sona has burst issues, but has sustained damage which is weird for a squishy AP carry and doesn't really 'fit' if that makes sense. I like AP Janna to be honest. Although her purpose has gone down to an extent. She's only a good late pick if you know they are going something like Malz, Swain or AP Sion. She falls off very very quickly but absolutely rocks the early midgame and can make alot of strong AP carries useless in lower level games as she kind of functions similarly to AP Sion in that she can clear waves incredibly quickly. It doesn't take very long for her to be able to tornado a whole wave and instagib every non cannon minion. This might not seem overly impressive, but she has the awesome quality of being able to farm a whole minion wave under the enemy tower from only halfway up the lane. Which secures her cs and makes it very difficult for alot of ap champs to fun giving your team an inherent advantage. She doesn't carry by any means but she can severely shutdown alot of viable AP carries if you play to that idea.

On the jungle debate, I don't mind jungling, but I avoid doing it in solo queue. Jungle is brutal at the best of times even if you are going well because there is always risk to doing anything in the jungle, even if you have vision. I avoid it in SQ simply because I really hate having the added pressure of having to deal with flack and still play well.

Better than farming under tower, freeze the lane near the tower and use pots to hold the minions away from the tower enough to not let the tower push them back to where yi wants them.

Udyr is better at being lane malphite than Malphite is.

Good safe top laners include Teemo, Udyr, AP Shen, Quinn, Hiem and Nasus. The rest are more mportant to know your matchups but it's hard to flatout lose with these.

Also, top tip. If you're having Yorick and Jayce problems, Quinn has a cakewalk with them.

Trynd is best in mid against bad laners, he actually enjoys itemising for dealing with AP in the early game, and has much less issue with dying to ganks.

I play mid almost exclusively. And I only play four ap mids regularly, the rest are all AD mids.

Cass, for dealing with the possibility of Zed if we need an AP mid.
Malz, as a safe pick for when we go a lategame comp and need midgame presence.
Annie, if they have a squishy AP champ and we need the tankiness.
Lux, if Malz is taken.

I play alot of Riven if we are going aggresive. On my ranked team our jungler plays alot of Diana, Elise and co, so Riven combos well with them.
If they pick Kat, I instantly pick Trynd, I've yet to find anything that comes close to smashing her the way Trynd does.
If they go Kass I instantly go Udyr, my shield shields for more than his Q does until like level 9, and I can stand in the middle of his minions and deny him all day.
I also play Udyr into Zed, same with Amumu, but only if I'm feeling confident in the other lanes because Amumu is incredibly team fight oriented.
I also go stuff like Hybrid Varus if the teamcomp wants it, but that's rare.

So yeah I play more ad champs mid as a dedicated mid laner than Ap champs. I am helped by my top and jungler both liking to play AP in those lanes.

Because I'm on OCE and I really only play between 12 and 5am, most of us know each other just because of how it works.

Apparently I have a reputation for making enemy bot laners shit themselves when I go adc.

But that's not the funny part.
There is a guy that only plays runeglaive amumu.
And he's really bad.

And so we started adding each other just so we can track when he's going in to queue so we can all try to avoid him.

Malzahar adc is legit if you have the right team for it. He works best with a kiting team and omg his damage is tremendous.

He's a very good counter to champs that take towers quickly by virtue of being a very reliable last hitter while pushing and the zone control he has with space aids is very strong. He is sub par if you get caught not managing your passive properly but if you aren't an idiot it works really well. You just have to prep for teamfights and then get in some poke early so you can get a daddy voidling with the right timing for when the initiation happens.

He's very much like Draven where you want to stack damage asap on him. Voidling only scales off ad and not attack speed so you want to be getting that early ad lay the zoning game.

@Genda: I am an adc main as well and I think a lot of your difficulties with the role are being caused by your champion selection. The ability to carry with an adc in solo queue is entirely dependent on your ability to stay alive and dish out the damage. You need to be directing the tanks on what you want them to do. And if you need your support to build a crucible, you need to be forceful on that early with them.

Now to champions. When I play solo queue, if I am an early pick. I always go an adc with an inbuilt escape. I end up playing a lot of Cait and a lot of Ezreal. They aren't the strongest adcs but you can duel with them and most importantly kite with them. Trist is ok too, and vayne is ok provided you are very good with her. The next step is to not go hunting kills. Focus on your cs first and foremost. If you can farm really well, then you don't need kills. That doesn't mean ignore your lane partner setting up opportunities, but it does mean not taking risky engages.

Lastly, learn the limits of the adcs you play. Like I know that as cait, if I am playing very well and have good reaction times, I can pretty much always duel a fizz 1 on 1. Doesn't mean I do, but if I am ahead and we need a pick, I'll see if I can get a good position to do it in the mid to late game.

tl;dr Direct the tanks, play something with an escape from early pick, concentrate on cs over kills early, learn the limits of the champs you are playing.

Also don't be scared to take cleanse in to some lanes, especially if you have an escape.

Edit: For those that haven't seen, the range has been increased at all levels and scales so it's now 300/600/900 and if his shroom would land on a shroom already placed it will bounce 3/4/5 Teemos before dropping. So say hello to shroom skipping when sieging.

Buying a sightstone after bot lane is level nine is a waste of gold. You want to have it, but at that point in the game money is better spent elsewhere seeing as everyone should be upgrading trinkets on first back after they hit level 9.

The best beginner adcs are adcs with point and click escape and range. Trist and Cait are both very good. Ezreal is also good.

Cait is pretty much the best for beginners. Your combos with your support are easy to do, she teaches mana conservation and can pseudo ward a brush. She has a good escape and a simple ult.

@Ashe Sentiments: Ashe is actually very difficult to play correctly at the moment because against assassins she just folds, her range is middling for an adc, her only escape is kiting which does nothing against jumps and she has no way outside her ult to unstick someone that has her. If I want to play something immobile I'd rather play Jinx who I can proc a speed boost on or chomper my feet.

The trick with Janna, especially in silver, is to work out what type of adc you are with. If they are an aggressive adc put your shield on them proactively to get them extra harass, if they play defensive, then play for the disengage or counter attack.

Like there is never going to be much you can do if they have a blitz and your adc is dumb as shit.

As Janna your job is to survive the early game becuase you win games in teamfights later.

I have played both AD and AP Leona from the jungle. And AD Leona is far far better. When you build damage on Leona you are going for a burst assassin. Her combo lends itself very well to scaling damage off trinity. E, auto, Q, W, Auto, Ult, Auto, W goes off is an amazing amount of damage with an AD build and very few things survive it.

You also survive the jungle much better with AD.

As someone that moved from NA to OCE. Your last hitting is going to take a hit. You will go to last hit something and end up leaving it with a sliver of health instead. So make sure you play normals to get used to it.
