Thresh is more mechanically complex than most supports, admittedly - but he's worth the little bit of extra it will take to figure out how to use flay correctly. Thresh has the highest number of utility abilities in the game, except for maybe nautilus - the champion is a support god.

could have gone thornmail too - with that much gold vs a full AD comp, nothing can hit you anymore

Kinda rude statement, but why the fuck are we talking about Illaoi when Quinn is literally the best champ in the game? 52%+ win rate in every role that matters. Basically the best solo laner and best bot laner.

I have been playing a bunch of quinn lately. I don't know if i think she's the best champ in the game, but she is fun, and her late game is AWESOME. I have some issues with her lane phase when in the duo lane, though I'm not sure if that's a matchup issue or just a skill issue on my part. She's certainly super goddamn fun, though.

Izzy's thresh play in the lane engage was quite good IMO, but the first two deaths seemed to be more misplays on shen and karthus' part than anything else. Perhaps I'm missing something?

(Obviously, you played it well in leveling your heal, staying out of range of CC, consistently getting damage down, etc - not trying to downplay your skill here. Just seems to me that the first double was due entirely to enemy errors.)

I have also come to rather enjoy treeline. It's a good time when you don't have enough people for a five, and the strategy in the game is interesting. Plus, I think it's made my map awareness much better - no wards and less space between lane, so less time to react means I have to be more aware and on my toes.
