Also are any of you playing standard? If so, what deck?

I've been playing Temur aggro and it has been lots of fun + I win lots of games.

In a deck like heroic is scry (god's willing) considered better than power (feat of resistence)

I went to play standard today and had a lot of fun
went 3-1 with Temur aggro idk what to do with the store credit I am getting as I don't want to build a 3rd deck since I don't think I am capable of building a deck bit by bit I will probably get the 1st couple of cards with store credit then I will just sell of my my traders for 40% of there value and half of my savings to get the rest of them. I just ended up getting unhinged lands XD

I just realized all my round wins where game 1 loss into 2,3 wins and I lost the 1 round in 2 games :P worst possible winning record op

Round 1 - Jeskai (Win) This match up is really good for me, it simply comes down to creatures are able to deal more damage then burn spells and I have no problems with any of Jeskai's threats
Round 2 - Mono Red (Loss) I mulled both games and didn't draw side board cards :(
Round 3 - Abzan (Win) Tempo is really strong and having your opponent tap out to play an elspeth only to have it countered is brutal when you will usually already have a lead. Hornet Queen is rendered useless against Temur charm and the other threats are not big enough. Sorin is good but he requires an established board which means that I am already in a losing position anyway. Game 1 which my opponent won and had sorin it was really good but I was already going to lose anyway unless I drew back to back crater's claws. Game 2 my opponent got sorin but without creatures she could only create a vampire token which is very underwhelming for 4 mana.
Round 4 - Jeskai (Win) Same reason as round 1.

I know this is just a thursday night standard event but I wanted to share as I am having a lot of fun with this deck :)

I never complain about luck and when I complain I don't do it in front of my opponent just to my friends. Although it is still wrong it isn't as bad as you think.

My goal for GP ottawa is too collect all the cards that I don't get for a modern

Should I get birthing pod or U/R/W delver? I am not that good of a blue player but delver seems to be the better deck right now.
I also have played and enjoyed both of the decks

I might go delver and build into pod because delver is a lot cheaper and I want to at least have some kind of modern deck i enjoy playing and is able to compete at PTQs and GPTs

I just wanted to get something tier 1 as fast as I could :P but infect seems fun enough where I will sacrifice winning as I assume infect would be bad when everyone is running removal for delver decks

I will leave these as links and not images so I don't waste lot of space

My budget is the above plus 200$ and maybe a sarkhan and 2 stormbreath dragons

I decided I wanted to build this deck
http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=1221894
(I don't even have the swift spears for it yet)

I chose delver over pod as it is a cheaper deck and I enjoy it more then pod

here are the vendors at GP Ottawa
http://www.gamekeeper.ca/gpottawa/#.VG5qw4vF91A
which ones would give me the most credit or ones I should just avoid all together on average.

I am still pretty new to magic (playing since born of the gods) and I am not sure how I should go about buying an entire deck :/

Thanks a lot!!! I will probably end up holding onto the thoughtseize as I probably won't get fetch lands just yet

I printed of a sheet with a max value I would pay for cards and minimum value I would give them away for so I can easily stay on budget

I am aware a lot of that was bulk making the list also speeds up trading a lot (I have different prices set)

Although 200 bulk rares at 25c is 50$ and at TCG mid the deck is around 350$ so it will surely help considering I was never going to use those rares

I really appreciate it!

I also want to make sure I am not trading something in for less then I can get at my LGS as there buylist is pretty good in many situations

http://www.401games.ca/tradelists/FullWantedList.htm

I might not even find many people who want to trade me thoughtseize for 25$ xD
What website should I use for price points when doing trades?

You are all incredibly so I will post interesting decks I build from now on.

I tried going elves and decided going against entreat the entreat the angles as I felt green sun and chord of calling was enough to end the game

16 lands was intentional this time :P as I felt I had a lot of elves

What someone told me at FNM is that burn is a 7 card combo deck which is how I assume the 2 of you interpret it.
I like to consider burn its own archetype, infect an aggro deck and eldrazi a tribal deck since it is neither aggro or combo in my eyes.

edit: Too bad this deck will be dated soon :C
