Ireland! He was some Welsh lad who got kidnapped by Niall of the Nine Hostages (potentially one of my ancestors) and was sold to a lad out in Mayo to tend his sheep. He got home eventually because God thought he was dead sound, and eventually returned to bring Christianity to the island. Also he drove out the shnakes, but they came back to run the government a few years later.
Also, he met Oisín when Oisín came back to visit Ireland from Tír Na nÓg. Oisín fell off of his horse and immediately aged as he would have if he'd never left. He discovered that Na Fianna had long since died out, and converted to Christianity shortly before his death, after sharing the history of Na Fianna with Patrick.
He's the reason the shamrock is our national flower; he used it to explain the holy Trinity of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!
Also some people say that he is apparently patron of engineers for some reason.
Also St.Paddy, none of that Patty nonsense. He was a saint, not a burger!
PS: Oisín is a mythological figure and the story of his meeting St.Patrick is anecdotal of the change from paganism to Christianity in Ireland.
PSS: There probably weren't any snakes in Ireland before governments became a thing
PSSS: Niall of the Nine Hostages' 15th son or something supposedly was clan head of the clan to which the last High King, from whom my last name is derived from, was born into."As everyone knows there is a special guardian angel for drunkards and lovers"- Alexandre Dumas

Fairies steal babies and replace them with their own, they are terrifying little bastards. The fear of Fairies runs so deep that, when they build motorways here, they divert the path of the road so they don't have to dig up fairy/ringforts. No word of a lie."As everyone knows there is a special guardian angel for drunkards and lovers"- Alexandre Dumas

Yeah I don't know where it comes from but our traditions re: Fairies almost always depict them as pretty much evil. "Mischievous" is kind of putting it mildly. There's fairyforts dotted all across the country, we even have them marked on maps. You don't mess with them either. There's plenty of stories of the farmer who lost livestock that grazed in the fort, or worse, the farmer who dug up the fort and died shortly afterwards in an accident.
As far as guardians of the forest goes; I've slept in several forests, particularly in the Wicklow Mountains and they are ominously still. As soon as you leave the next morning though, it's as though there's a celebration to see you off, a cacaphony of sound, birds everywhere. Real sense of being watched. I always kind of figured it was to do with the trees being so old, I think I wrote something about it once.
Also seen plenty of things that could be regarded as supernatural too. Ruined castles are creepy, do not wander about them at night!"As everyone knows there is a special guardian angel for drunkards and lovers"- Alexandre Dumas

Avina is centre looking at a map, trying to get us to Bord. Danum is standing next to her, helmet in crook of his arm, trying to help. Lorelei is nearby tossing a dagger up into the air. Katherine sits on a tree stump with her sword across her lap, concentrating. No is levitating nearby whilst writing in his spell book. Karl is crouched down, examing the trail. A nearby roadsign reads "Table, 3mi". Haven't put Seline in yet cos I needed the picture
Yo, Lilith! What would you like Seline to be doing in the picture?

I'm gonna be some or other form of cleric, yes. I still plan on tying nature stuff into it even if it comes at the cost of being horribly inefficient because RP bruh.
Also I need to build up a family tree for the Holz family so I don't have to retcon it every time I wanna play a new one of them. I feel like I'll hide one in there who is a total black sheep relative to the family"As everyone knows there is a special guardian angel for drunkards and lovers"- Alexandre Dumas

Is a cleric's starting gold 5d4 x10gp (so 50)? I can't remember where in the PHB it is and that's what google tells me
Nevermind I found it. Also I can't do basic maths, apparently. Also do we use max value or average value?"As everyone knows there is a special guardian angel for drunkards and lovers"- Alexandre Dumas

Yo guys I was talking to FakeGod about maybe dipping two ranger levels to make me more competent in combat. Anyway long story short, FG has very kindly given me the option to re-jig my char sheet and take those two levels now instead of the two cleric levels I'd filled in. Benefits of this are:
I can make Lukas a regular Half-Elf instead of Half-Human Elf, thus giving him slightly better racial bonuses (Such as +2 Dip I think) ->[I made him half-human for racial proficiency with longbows. Rangers automatically have it]
I'll be able to use Rapid Shot
I'll have a favoured enemy
I'll be able to track shit etc.
Much more skills
I can replace Zen Archery with some other useful feat, say precision shot to negate that -4 for shooting into combat
and probably a couple other bits and pieces.
The downsides are:
It'll take me 2 more levels of cleric after that (so when we hit level 5) to gain access to lvl 2 heal spells
Now, personally I'd love to do this, and honestly I think it might be better to dip sooner rather than later. I thought, however, it might be nice to ask your opinions on this, since my role in this party is basically healer and I would be briefly diminishing my utility to the group. Again, I figure doing this early means we could get by on CLW for longer, and then I'll have cure moderate wounds (2d8+1/lvl) once we hit level 5, which is when we'll need it more.
So, to the floor. Thoughts?"As everyone knows there is a special guardian angel for drunkards and lovers"- Alexandre Dumas

Good point. Some of our ranged attackers are ditching ranged attacks soon though, is the only thing. Plus, I was only gonna dip two so after that I can still get useful cleric stuffs. Do we have any idea approximately how high we'll level to over the course of the campaign?
PEDIT: Would aim to finish at cleric 9 ranger 2"As everyone knows there is a special guardian angel for drunkards and lovers"- Alexandre Dumas

I see what you're saying and I think I may just continue on with cleric. I think I just felt a bit cabbage in that session and figured ranger levels'd be useful. My next character I'll probably go back to ranger although Iamtempted to try a rogue or something.
as far as cleric 0 ranger x, I think dipping ranger and continuing on would be more viable if we were playing our characters for longer than just up to level 11. (Not saying I have any problems with that, in fact it's rather refreshing creating a new character!)
Also I need to get the Holz family tree out of my head and into text. In my head I've kinda decided 4 siblings (Karl, Lukas, and then maybe another brother and a sister).
Also if any of ye have been following Hobo, Imayhave accidentally included the party pic from last campaign in a portfolio of engineering drawings which I have submitted. I'll keep you updated on that as the facts emerge."As everyone knows there is a special guardian angel for drunkards and lovers"- Alexandre Dumas

5 books probably about mining and a pick axe! If no one is gonna take that chainshirt, then I will. Long term, Maybe get me some plate for Lukas too, though that may not be necessary.
In terms of stat-boosting gear, if I had, say a headband of +2 wisdom, would that give me a bonus 4th level spell? (Once they're available to me)"As everyone knows there is a special guardian angel for drunkards and lovers"- Alexandre Dumas

Off the top of my head, I've got spell save DCs for inflict wounds, shatter, sanctuary and sound burst, possibly a few others. Of those, the main one I use is sound burst and that'll still do damage even if the target passes a fort save"As everyone knows there is a special guardian angel for drunkards and lovers"- Alexandre Dumas

Lukas Holz wrote:Hey guys, listen to this!
"Mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the earth from an orebody, lode, vein, seam, reef or placer deposits which forms the mineralized package of economic interest to the miner.
Ores recovered by mining include metals, coal, oil shale, gemstones, limestone, dimension stone, rock salt, potash, gravel, and clay. Mining is required to obtain any material that cannot be grown through agricultural processes, or created artificially in a laboratory or factory. Mining in a wider sense includes extraction of any non-renewable resource such as petroleum, natural gas, or even water.
Mining of stones and metal has been a human activity since pre-historic times. Modern mining processes involve prospecting for ore bodies, analysis of the profit potential of a proposed mine, extraction of the desired materials, and final reclamation of the land after the mine is closed.
Mining operations usually create a negative environmental impact, both during the mining activity and after the mine has closed. Hence, most of the world's nations have passed regulations to decrease the impact. Worker safety has long been a concern as well, and modern practices have significantly improved safety in mines."
