I ran into a problem following your instructions on setting up the mods needed. (I'm using set 1 cause I have a few client-side mods I want as well, like optifine which is required to use my favored texture pack)
The author has updated ExtraBiomesXL to version
2.2.5
and there is no link that I can find in the mod's thread (as linked by you) to get version
2.2.3
which is the one you say we need.
Is there a way to get the version we need somewhere or can you just update the server to use the new version?
Also please add me to whitelist, as I'll join when I get the mods straightened out. My minecraft username is

Go to Start Menu>All Programs>Accessories>Run, type %appdata% into the box and hit OK. You should then be able to open your .minecraft folder from the window that will bring up.
I can switch us back to a bukkit server, meaning Essentials, Homes, Warps, Etc., if we are willing to upgrade the ExtraBiomesXL mod to the newest version. all three of the mods we use have been ported to the MCPortCentral modded CraftBukkit build. Using that craftbukkit build, we can use any MCPC mods, as well as any Bukkit Plugins, in tangent together,
I'd be fine with this, would be nice to have warps and the /home command, especially since I've built a house now.

Storage? Just a bunch of chests.
You should see my house on another server that I've been on since I first got Minecraft in March. I have a floor of nothing but chests, probably about 30 double-chests and they're all completely full.
Also @Maru: More people would be fine as long as we continue the whitelist system and don't just make it completely open to public access

Portal overlap is very annoying..
Maru's modded server, when I go through the Nether-side of my portal, I re-enter the main world through a different portal instead of my own, into someone's house.
The annoying part is I died on the way back to my own house (lack of food + skeleton) and lost a full set of Adamantine tools and armor...

I'd recommend having more maps on hand, in case we decide to do multiple games or something. Start time is only 12pm my time, and I have the day off so I'll be available all day.

Client mods are allowed, so long as they don't give you an unfair advantage (xray, fly, etc). OptiFine is strongly recommended, it makes everything much smoother, especially in multiplayer. Inventory Tweaks, Rei's Minimap, and StatusEffectHUD are all fine.
Maestro/Mist, are you /in?
I'll need the correct .jar file. I keep mine fully updated so I currently have 1.3.2 installed

Tentative /in to Monday's planned event. Sounds fun and I'll be there if I can.
I may be too tired after the gaming convention I'm attending this weekend. I'm part of the staff for the area I attend so I'll be pretty wiped out when I get home Sunday night.

Sorry but I'm not going to be able to attend. I won't actually get home until 8pm my time on Monday (which is 9 hours after scheduled start time).

Can someone point me to a 1.4.2 JAR file? I can't connect to the server
I had to wipe and reinstall my computer so I have only the latest version (1.4.5) available.

Spoiler:
Will you (in general) listen to us if we say the server is closed or we need quiet in-game / in IRC?
Will you (in general) listen to us if we make any "recommendations" about your playstyle for reasons of server health?
Will you be patient
when
we work through bugs / defects in the modpack? ( notice I don't say "if" )
Will you refrain from asking for mod additions or updates
at any time
?
Because of the almost-role-play that will be going on in this modpack, will you follow any rules we set in place to preserve the intent of the backstory? This includes but is not limited to the following:
Reporting (and ignoring) any out-of-place biomes, blocks, or items that appear where they shouldn't appear
Using out-of-place mobs, blocks, or items in places they shouldn't be used
(e.g.: Chocobos, Big / Ancient Trees, or Botania setups in
Apocalypse
,
Turtles, Dimensional Doors, or Invasion setups in
Ancient
, etc.)
Over-using certain mods out of laziness ( yes, this is arbitrary )
(e.g.: Attained Drops, PortalGun, ComputerCraft, Archimedes' Ships)
I don't think anybody will mind if I answer any other questions here...right? I'll post some screenshots in a narrated "first look" kindof deal once I've solidified the worldgen we want for each world.
Now that I have working internet again.. and the time to play..
I am very interested in joining this when ready. I will abide by any rules put in place.
Edit: If the north of the village looks like a war zone, yes it was. Only my home and property got destroyed through, and there may be holes me and Jackal couldn't find in the wall.
Invasion mod isn't fun kids, don't use it unprepared. Especially not in your front door.
And when you have no idea how it works. I managed to avoid dying to the mobs, but apparently if the invasion succeeds and they kill the nexus everyone currently on the server dies. this cost me 50 levels. And I had to drain my xp tank for the levels to fix my armor.

So the portals are up and we're supposed to be able to use them. But access seems to be one way at the moment.
Players that started on Ancient can cross to Apoc without error, though the inventory transfer is still wonky.
However it does not yet work in the other direction. Both myself and wgeurts are getting "you are not white-listed on this server" when we try to use the portal. I also get this error if I try to join Ancient directly from the server list.

Yeah I like it. And some of the designs were inspired by suggestions I made. The idea started when he re-skinned leather armor to look like a straitjacket for a server we are both on, called Asylum

There is no stuff to save, is the problem. The server lagged as I died and the lava burned my stuff before the game recognized I was dead and created the gravestone.

I suppose we could try clearing the lava and see if my stuff IS in the gravestone, but it's at least 12 blocks deep and I have nowhere near enough gravel/sand for such a task.

I'm not talking about what you think I am...
The drop I'm referring to is one of the things you get off the wild grass. It's not guaranteed to drop anything in the first place, and even if it does getting the specific drop I need is like 1 in 6. And I need 2 stacks of said drop.

Yeah I'm fine, my computer isn't.
We experienced a partial power outage (commonly known as "brownouts" - the lights worked, partially, but nothing else) and the surge when it happened fried something.
If I'm lucky and it's only the power supply, I can replace that next month. If it killed the motherboard/processor, that will take most of a year to save up for replacing.
The older computer I'm on now can't run modded 1.7 properly (I can't give Java enough memory)
with just 1 GB, especially if the world is being loaded server-side.
You've got about 90 mods in there, though, and Forge for 1.9 isn't 100% stable or optimized yet. Resource packs are adding another layer of stuff on top of stuff to a game of stuff that's not used to having as much stuff in it as you're putting in it. I use a minimum of 2 GB with mods.
