If the jury would like to review my remarks they will note that I never said the Dynmap should be turned on, simply that in the absence of any indication as to why it was not working, I asked several questions pertaining to its functionality. If the jury would like to review my remarks they will note that I have not perjured myself!-

As a former admin, allow me to emphasize this point: if they do ANYTHING wrong it is treated as if you (the person who invited them) did that thing. If they get banned, you get banned to. And probably everybody else you bring with you. This is how we have such a great group. In post 18880, Elbirn wrote:

If you're gonna bring people in who aren't a part of MS, who we don't know, you will take absolute responsibility for every action they take. You will police them WRT all of our rules and if they break them you're all gone.
At least, I hope that's how ETL would treat it.....-

We haven't encountered this at all on our 1.10.2 server. It's modded and very much so - especially if this is a problem that occurs for you on both Vanilla and Modded, it's your host/server. Not Minecraft itself. In post 18940, EspeciallyTheLies wrote:

Is this node CPU poor or something? It is running the minecraft 1.10.2 jar, not even forge right now. Maybe multicraft is inserting something that takes a lot of resources?-

"/ftb team create" will create a team. You can set the "ID" for your team, but should just be something you are able to remember for later. From what we've found, your team's displayed name corresponds to your username + 's Team, so for example, mine has been "wMaestro's Team". Once in a team, you can claim chunks by clicking on the FTB Utils button that looks like a map and left clicking on any number of chunks in your general area. You may then chunkload chunks that you've claimed by shift-left-clicking. You can unclaim your team's chunks (you seem to be unable to evenseeother teams' claimed chunks) by right clicking, and unload them (but keep them claimed) by shift-right-clicking.
"/ftb team add_ally" was how we added eachother so that we could interact with eachothers' chunks but still claim and load our own, and I can't replicate exactly what we did before but that could just be because nobody else is on. What I would try is typing a players' username after the command above, but only when they are online. Otherwise, try their team ID (if you know it) and it should work. Granted, doing it by teamname will probably allow the "alliance" to transfer with team ownership, and it probably applies to all players in the allied team. Have some fun with it?
If you're co-oping with another player, try using "/ftb team invite" and then their username when they're online. That should add them to your team.-

P.S. Not sure this will happen in SP6, but in our pack JourneyMap show's the players' claimed chunks, which I think is pretty cool.In post 18992, Maestro wrote:Once in a team, you can claim chunks by clicking on the FTB Utils button that looks like a map and left clicking on any number of chunks in your general area. To find other peoples' team IDs, you can type "/ftb team list" and it'll come up with a GUI showing every player and their team(s). The ID (the thing I'm assuming you can type to ally with another team) is on the first line of that GUI for each team.In post 18992, Maestro wrote:"/ftb team add_ally" was how we added eachother so that we could interact with eachothers' chunks but still claim and load our own, and I can't replicate exactly what we did before but that could just be because nobody else is on. Rhi, is there a way to tone down the ladders? I do think the maze would be more effective, more immersive, and less repetitive if you didn't constantly have to go up and down in-game. It also seems like it would allow for more freedom and more interesting maze-ness than the "ladders that end nowhere" thing that started happening later on in this particular maze you generated. In post 15947, Rhinox wrote:And... Success! I can now generate a random 27x27x27 cube 3D maze scematic (13x13x9 nodes in game) in a minute or 2
Spoiler: Example Full Schematic
Red squares represent ladders up to the next level. Blue represents ladders down to the previous level. Purple represents ladders both up and down to adjacent levels.
Naturally I won't be building that particular maze now that I've gone and posted the schematic , but I'll be building 1 very much like that. Now I can play around with different starting node seeds until I get something I like.
Not sure how difficult a maze it is really... Looks hard on paper, and its hard to follow paths in schematic format just because its easy to lose track of where you are when jumping between grids. In game may be easier due to being able to visualize the 3 dimensions, or it may be even more difficult due to not being able to see very far in front of you and where you are in relation to the rest of the maze.-

I've got the biggest boat - and I always will, trust me. I mean, really folks, when you think about Crooked Dinnerbone (you can think all you like) you know you don't want him, you should want the guy with the biggest boat. My boat is huge. It's so huge I could take it to the Nether if I wanted - that's right: the Nether. Speaking of the Nether, I know they've been taking all of our Nether Quartz ore mining jobs, but that's entirely because of President Notch and how he has totally mismanaged trade, folks. It's all about trade - and I should know. I know the most about trade out of anybody here, lemme tell ya folks. I mean, if you vote for me (trust me) we will be rolling in Diamonds - you'll get so tired of Diamonds and you'll say "oh Maestro we can't deal with all of these Diamonds!" But that's ok; you'll all get used to it. Also, Pigmen. Let's talk about Pigmen. Because our portals need more protection - they really do, people! I mean, think about it. We have so many portals just lying around, and the Pigmen just walk through. They just walk through whenever they please! And when they come from the Nether, they're not sending their best: they're criminals, they're bringing drugs, and crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people, but I just don't know. We need to build giant walls around all the portals - and we'll build it out of Nether Brick. We'll make the Nether supply the materials. It's simple. It's genius. I know you all love it. I've got the biggest boat - remember that.-

I do indeed have a piston-trapped non-XP grinder set up around a Skeleton Spawner just north of our cove in the woods. Kinda hard to find, not very well marked (on purpose, it's a WIP) but I could hop on and show it off sometime if you feel like improving on it, Fishy. Good to see more old farts out and about.-

I have this thread bookmarked and I check my MS bookmarks relatively frequently, so just post here (or ping me on IRC) if you're around and I'd be more than willing to hop on. If you do modify the one I've already kinda-sorta-manipulated, you should know beforehand that you would probably be better off cutting out most of what I already have in place and starting with a clean spawner zone to do with as you choose. Could even be remade to work with XP, but that's your choice. I'd love it if people had more reason to come down-river towards us!-

Where'd you find it? I found two to the south in the strait between two continents but hadn't marked or explored them yet. Also, sorry for the DP, but basically, Klaz is handling most of the posting and "PR" here (and payments,*cough*send him money) and I'm handling any further backend that's needed, including server switch-over for future events we run or adventure/mini-game style maps we use on this new server. Direct any posts in-thread or PMs on that subject to moi, as well as any complaints about fellow players or any BS like that.*cough*
On that subject, this event server will have a strict no-tolerance, no-second-chances policy. Additionally, if there's no existing trust between a potentially troublesome player and the admins, we reserve the right to make some kind of judgement without irrefutable evidence. There shouldn't even be much of an opportunity for this kind of thing, since not many of the worlds on this server will be permanent, but don't even toe the line of griefing or breaking any rules - let's keep it fun for everyone.-

That might be best, Maru. I feel like it is important to reiterate that this server has an end in mind. This is not a "build the coolest base and mine all of the things"-type server. You all wanted an Ender Dragon run, and you got a server to do it on. "Ask permission before taking peoples' things", "don't build ugly shit", and all of the other rules still apply, but this server is only up until we decide what event to do next.In post 19340, Maruchan wrote:We need a damn enderchest so I can start stockpiling the supplies I gather for the end run, so they aren't needlessly wasted.-

You wouldn't've seen his horse though, because you're on the MS Vanilla server. He's on the KMP Events server. In post 19343, Alchemist21 wrote:I feel like I saw a horse with that name somewhere while I was exploring the community.
To Whom It May ConcernI took a ride on Achievement Station and on Klaz's end there were a ton of skeletons at the entrance with enhcanted stuff. I think most of them de-spawned, but one's in a boat and won't go away. Those things were part of the reason I got stuck at Klaz's house for a while.-

You're not a super-villain; I wasn't even directing that just at you. I was reiterating rules that have been in place on our servers since before you even joined the site. It's not an arbitrary decision, but of course ugliness is one based on personal preference, and the overwhelming majority prefer things not to be hashed together out of Cobblestone. I'm glad you're joining us even if you're not here for the Run itself - every little bit helps. In post 19348, Accountant wrote:

I thought that the base was perfectly fine. I like cobblestone and have built my house out of them. If I'd used glass instead you would have absolutely 0 problem, so this is purely an arbitrary decision on your part.-

The Endermen don't aggro when you attack the Dragon, so it's far easier and more efficient to ignore them. The problem actually isn't the Dragon - with more than 3-4 people (as long as your aim is decent) your damage is good and it can only really target one of you at a time with its attacks.
I've always thought the real problem lies in breaking every single Ender Crystal on top of the Obsidian pillars of the main island, since the Crystals will heal the Dragon faster than you can dish out the damages. The only blocks the Dragon can't break with its rush attack are Bedrock, Obsidian, and End Stone, and it can easily knock you right off whatever you build to get up the pillars if you're not careful. And the Crystals explode when you break them, so that doesn't help.-

They stay there forever if the area gets "unloaded" by the server, and only despawn after about 3-5 minutes if the area is close enough to spawn or to a player that it's "loaded". Server spawn loads some chunks (might be a 3x3 area?) and players load a 9-chunk square centered on themselves (81 chunks total). In post 19382, Alchemist21 wrote:Starting to think someone discovered Pony Island before I did.
When someone dies and they drop items, how long do those items stay there? Because several times I've seen items that look like they were dropped by players and nobody else has been online the whole time.
"Chunks" are sections of the server 16 blocks on each side that stretch on the vertical plane from the Void/Bedrock all the way to the maximum build height at y = 256. You can see them in Vanilla by pressing F3+G, I believe.-

Necessary rollback just took place. Anything done in the last 2-3 hours is gone. Both servers suffered from an issue causing chunks to regenerate using the wrong seed - I'm not sure what caused it, but from this point forward if it happens at least they'll be forced into the correct seed (e.g. the ones they were using on our old Cloud server).-
