I found an undersea fortress thingy! My first one. Wow, they're a pain to explore. OTOH, sponges are cool.

Where'd you find it? I found two to the south in the strait between two continents but hadn't marked or explored them yet. I'd be interested in delving into one - protip: Water Breathing potions are basicallly mandatory and Depth Strider (relatively new enchantment that boosts your ability to do anything underwater) is HIGHLY recommended.

I'm doing it with sponges and milk to counteract the anti-mining; haven't got to potions in this world yet.

I found it while filling a full-scale map, right in the furthest corner. It's around (1800,1800); there's a (very rudimentary) nether route.

interdiction torch blocking egress from nether portal, then leave server running for awhile with chunkloading

pigman spawns from portal, until the area is filled, then subsquent spawns gets pushed in nether portal and teleported to nether, where they do not get loaded until i go there

so a ocean of pigmen eventually ends up in the nether.

Hollowed it out Not sure what to do with it now, out of building some kind of grinder/gutting the innards for shinies/building something cool

In the end, I went for a bit of each. I've built a base in some of the bottom floor of the monument (this thing is huge!) and built an OK guardian grinder - but certainly don't want to ruin the whole area making an efficient one. Visitors welcome - though I'm not done with this place yet

Oh, I should really give directions... my spawntown nether portal is near Rhinox's, follow the fish. Right by my portal is a nether railway.

Also, if anyone plays vanilla again and fancies building a base in the other half of the monument - you're very welcome.

Exactly 2.0 but check the OP for modifications. We removed something and there is a config download.
Thought you had played there already but I'll check the wl.

I haven't played SP6. I've tried starting multiple times, but each time it crashes after saying MatterOverload broke something by trying to register an entity to id 38. I deleted the configs, placed in the new ones, and then placed in the additional mods into the mods folder on 2.0.

Ah, Matter Overload needs to be deleted from the client instance.

Over in Vanilla, I've finished exploring the area in the positive directions from spawn. The highlight is the ocean monument I've now converted into a base:


Another highlight was this cute flower biome which I've not seen before. I might have to build a house there.


One thing I didn't find was a mushroom biome. Anyone know of one?

Yup! There's a small island one faaaaar to the south of our bay community. Not sure of the coordinates but it's there.

strange
