Survey about Gender Diversity in Video Games

This forum is specifically for discussing non-Mafia games
(board, card, video, we're not picky)
.
Playing
such games should happen in the Mish Mash forum, of course.

I like that the gender identity and race fields were write-in answers. Would that more survey-makers would do that.

I feel like its not surprising that the designer of a survey about diversity in games thought to let people self identify in that manner, but I also agree completely with you.

I don't feel uncomfortable putting down my race and gender identity in a check box, but that's because I fit inside of those checkboxes because of my privilege.

Filling this out because I damn do care about stuff like this.
"It hurts to have control over anything. I'd rather be a leaf in the wind."
Call me Lily instead. Avatar is Bellossom from Pokemon! drawn by Ether.
Espeonage (08:39) - lily is happy = everything is good with the world

I don't get why they ask me about my racial background. I think I wish they wouldn't do that.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.

In this case, it's specifically because it's a survey about race / gender representation, so they will presumably be separating their results into categories by race and gender

But gender is a part of "me". I'm a guy and that makes who I am.

I'm not entirely sure if I want white (or whatever eufemism you want to use) to be part of my identity.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.

Filled out, though I definitely don't come from the target audience in making games more diverse. I'm a healthy white male between the ages of 18 and 39, literally every game has at least one character I can identify with.

Speaking a (relatively) healthy white male between the ages of 18 and 39, several of those aspects are not crucial to my identity at all and do not help me identify with a character.
Who said that?
Chamber. It's all a conspiracy.
Or is it?

Agreed on a personal level, but on a general level, our demographic gets a shitton of representation in games, which was what I was trying to say.
