The dowsing was completely unnecessary IIRC.
Also, I think that Skyward Sword's motion controls are getting slighted; I didn't have a problem with them once I adjusted to them. Twilight Princess, on the other hand, was basically Flail To Win.
also while we're complaining about Twilight Princess I think the mandatory fishing segments were much worse than SS's dowsing

I mean, on paper Skyward Sword should have been great....and yet the actual game turned out to be flashes of brilliance amid hours of backtracking, repetition, and some of the most dull environments I can think of offhand.Spoiler: whyEverything you say and do matters. Erm... cant remember any mandatory fishing segments in Twilight Princess... if there was, there was certainly a lot less of them than the dowsing.
In regards to the controls, I'll simply disagree in regards to Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword it was more a case of "flail because the wii-mote doesn't recognise your movements"Mostly retired. Unless you ask or it's something interesting.- Vi

One as a tutorial at the beginning of the game, one at the waterfall to get into the snow area.In post 58, Porochaz wrote:Erm... cant remember any mandatory fishing segments in Twilight Princess... if there was, there was certainly a lot less of them than the dowsing.
The reason I hated it was precisely because it was the only place where the motion controls actually mattered.Everything you say and do matters. People will respond in ways you may never see. May those responses be what you intend. - Vi
