So my app keeps popping up a "GPS Signal not found" error whenever I change menus or try to tap things or just randomly. The game is unresponsive for a couple seconds and then the error goes away and everything is fine again. Has this happened to anyone else?
I've been getting that issue fairly regularly, I had been assuming it was because of horrible weather

I have now found some extra high level players near me as I went to the next town over that has more gyms. Crazy person (or more likely hacker) in two of them at level 34.
And there's another gym here that causes my game to crash when trying to see what Pokémon are in it.
My plans of claiming multiple in one day look shot based on that.

So turns out you can actually track pokemon again using the nearby feature.
This is because the nearby feature actually updates "live" now, unlike before when pokemon stayed on the list even after they despawned or you moved well out of range.
Also its probably only going to work reliably for rare pokemon or pokemon that you're only likely to be nearby 1 at a time since the nearby list hides duplicates, but that is fine because those are the ones you really want to track anyways. Nobody needs to track one of the 15 million pidgeys that are nearby.
Anyways, so Pokémon on the nearby list are within 200M of your location, so if you mark the location when they appear on the list and the location when they disappear from your list you can determine their location from those data points.
Yes, given enough time you can triangulate the location of a Pokemon on your nearby list. The problem is actually determining that location before the Pokemon despawns. In the last few days I've had both a Golduck and a Tentacruel despawn entirely before I could precisely located them.
I managed to hunt down a poliwhirl today because of the tracking. That was pretty neat. Then I saw an Exeggutor in the tracker but couldn't find it before the friends who I was supposed to meet came. I'm almost reaching Lv 20.
I successfully grabbed a Tentacool and a kabutos using it today. I do feel like I'm mostly just walking around from seeing them though.
I think I also worked out the location of a Squirtle and an Electabuzz using it, but both were somewhere I was unable to go, so I was unable to determine correctly.
I probably didn't go hunting the Magmar hard enough, it wasn't along the street I walked and couldn't be bothered getting the other ones.

I really hate it how it doesn't track walkign when the app is in the background. I can walk 5 km to/from work every day, but if I stash the tablet in my back and not carry it in my hand like an idiot it will go into sleep mode and not count the steps >_>
Also, what is NM doing? Worst play I’ve ever seen.
I can't remember the last N_M post that wasn't bland, unimaginative and lame. Some shitposters are at least somewhat funny. You are the epitomy of the type of poster that nobody would miss if you were to suddenly disappear. You never add anything of value.
I'm guessing you haven't read the game and probably never will? Why even sign up to play?
Yeah, turn off the screen timeout, or make it ridiculously long.
Just walked over 15km - hatched 2 pikachus in a row, that was good times, need 1 more to evolve. Have enough to evolve Doduo and Diglett into new Pokemon, but saving those lucky eggs until I can evolve like 40 or so at once

RC does not have my stash of animal porn, I promise you.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.
Caught my first Mr Mime the other day. Far and away the creepiest pokemon encounter animation.
I'm liking the cycling of spawn spots with each update; our local spawn has gone Eevee > Magikarp > Omanyte, and the campus has been a hotbed of Growlithe > Meowth > Psyduck.
I was dragged on a 5-hour pokeman expedition Saturday. We went to the Texas City Dike which is like a 5-mile long 2-lane road that juts out into the Gulf. Ran dry of Pokeballs catching a zillion water pokemans it was gr8.
