"It was a dark and stormy night. Our captain decided that the seas were too treacherous to continue, so we sail to the nearby coast and drop the anchor. I was making my way back from a nearby town with the supplies for the crew when I saw them: Giant man-eating fliers. They were bigger than horses and they were grabbing the screaming men and dropping them into the stormy seas below. I grabbed my club and ran to help, but it was too late. By the time sun rose, I was the only sailor alive. I searched the ship for anything useful left, and all I could find was the captain's war blade. And that is how my journey began."

"So you know how to sail a ship, then?"

"Good heavens, no. I was there to scrub the decks. I tried steering a boat once. I ran it aground faster than you can say WE'RE CAPSIZING."

Is the spell sacred item (Complete Champion) legal?

If so, Julian should devote all his downtime slots to casting that on all Tex's bullets.

Seems like a good balance fix.

Can you cast multiple copies of explosive runes into the same item and if so will they all go off at the same time?

Yes, but they only trigger if enemies actually read what's written, which isn't really possible when you're shooting at them.

Hey, guys. I would appreciate it if you guys let me know a particularly fun session(s) you enjoyed in the Act 1 of the campaign.

I ask in order to see what worked in the past in hopes of improving future games.

Here is the reminder of what happened in Act 1:

Started off with small random skirmishes + small linearish dungeon (Archikerabuild's Dungeon)

More random skirmishes + outrun the desert storm! + puzzle dungeon (Zephniraherade's Dungeon)

Rescuing slaves + exploring ruined city and fighting slavers

Straight combat dungeon (Matotensen's Dungeon)

Encounter with a very powerful ancient bug and minotaur guard (Zaranestrua's Dungeon)

Rescuing slaves + exploring ruined city and fighting beholder miniboss

Standard dungeon with time limit boss fight (Sindre fight)

I absolutely hated the 'encounter with ancient bug' and the part just before the time limit part in the 'Standard dungeon'.

Everything else was great!
2019 stats: Town WR 76.7%, overall WR 81.667%, 1 scum defeat involving a major mod error in lylo vs 8 scum wins.

I liked the encounter with the ancient bug. Also we should go back and murder it now.
Also, GIF, spell list:
Spoiler:
Spells which can be learned when I need them:
Magic Circle against Good (L3)

Spells which can better be covered by scrolls but it's only like 2 scrolls before it was cheaper for me to learn it and make the scrolls:
Fly (L3)
Haste (L3)

Spells which will prevent me from becoming useless later (So will be very necessary but atm not that necessary):
Defenestrating Sphere (L4)
Assay Resistance (L4)

Spells which have many combat uses (Resilient isn't that useful yet due to lack of slots, will be very very useful and capable of saving many lives later, Shatter is good now and will keep being good):
Shatter (L2)
Resilient Sphere (L4)

Spells necessary for binding:
Magic Circle against Evil (L3) (Also just super useful in general)
Dimensional Anchor (L4)

Spells Brian also has but which require good initiative and I have better initiative and could be the difference between everyone dying and not everyone dying:
Energy Aegis (L3) (I am fine with not learning this, it's probably not going to save me)

Spells which counter specific things but which it's also possible to deal with/harder to counter:
Anticipate Teleportation (L4)
Globe of Invuln, lesser (L4) (Okay, these two I guess aren't really that good unless we know we're going to go up against someone they'll be good against)

Spells which keep me alive (I like staying alive):
Heart of Earth (L4)
Heart of Air (L2)

Spells which will counter specific things which are easier to counter than deal with:
Continual Flame (L2) - Counters all darkness spells of level below 5 for no action and also no spell slot. Note that this includes Assassin's Darkness, which is terrifying if we don't have a counter to it.
Discern Shapechanger (L3) - Counters shapehsifter plots, imagine if we'd had it last campaign
Tongues (L3) (Counters not knowing their language) (I can cast this spontaneously if I learn it, knowing language hopefully shouldn't be so immediate that they can't wait 1 standard action, Comprehend Languages (L1) could also be used instead in many situations and is probably better other than for making deals with random elementals)

Divination spells to be used before going to sleep:
Locate Object (L2)
Scrying (L4) (Yes, everyone else can also cast this, but I can cast it spontaneously, so if I have any L4s left before sleep I can scry anyone we want to find, also if an NPC goes missing and we need to find them but didn't know that before prepping spells)
Enduring Scrutiny (L3) (Allows for instantaneous but low bandwidth communication between party members over long distances, can be cast before sleeping so as not to use a spell slot)
Detect Scrying (L4) (Also fits into the above category about countering scrying)

Divination Spells for just in case:
Instant Search (L1)
Detect Thoughts (L2)
Arcane Eye (L4) (Okay this one isn't strictly necessary and can in most cases be covered by clairvoyance)

Divination Spells which could end up useful, given that I can cast it spontaneously it's better to learn it:
Spymaster's Coin (L2) (This has many uses, not all of which are for spying on people. In general if we can get a tiny object somewhere we want to see, it's a spell level cheaper than Clairvoyance and also gives sound)
Who said that?
Chamber. It's all a conspiracy.
Or is it?

RC, how opposed would Cynbel be to the following plan?
Step 1: Cynbel summons some normal natural animal using SNA.
Step 2: Will polymorphs said animal into an unnatural abomination.
Step 3: Said unnatural abomination wrecks our enemies.

I'm not sure it would be worth it (In fact, at the moment I think it probably isn't. Polymorph can increase effectiveness but not by enough to justify the additional L4 spell slot it would take), but if it is would Cynbel agree to having his nature friends transformed into unearthly beasts?

Gif, how would Zenith feel if I temporarily forcibly prevented an evil being from doing evil while simultaneously putting its power towards keeping me alive while I pursued a righteous cause? More specifically, if I bound an evil mount and rode it around. Zenith isn't working with an evildoer, Zenith isn't doing anything evil, my mount isn't doing anything evil, they just happen to be kind of near each other without Zenith murdering it. (And Zenith could murder it. Easily)
