I felt like his opener was the most genuine thing he's ever posted, a high contrast from what I know of him. I've only seen him as town before, therefore i'm taking the tonal change as him being not town

Actually the play here is not to be scumhunting, we just need to lynch not jester for the next 2 phases. If we succeed in that and havent caught scum by day 4 we just lynch whoever had the most jester/scum equity.
Straight up scum hunting right now is dangerous because jester wants to look scummy at this point for that very reason.
I think jester was likely off the clemency wagon especially considering a no lynch would have won them the game so we should probably lynch people that were early on clemency. If scum bused it would probably be on the late end of the wagon but theres a chance jester joined late too as to not arouse suspicion due to the no lynch mechanics.

I wouldn't normally expect scum to bus here at all but given how close we were to the deadline it was choosing between that and risking a jester win. When given that choice they probably bus the flake partner for wincon and towncred.

Also dont get caught up in the idea that jester is going to make themselves super obvious and troll the game. I've played JN 2 times and I dont remember how the first time went because it was so long ago but in my last JN
and
in the reverse jester nightless I recently played, the jesters played in a way that looked mostly pro-town for the very reasons i stated in my last two posts.
That's where I think vca comes in handy. Players that simply look pro-town via their sorting and reading etc have decent scum equity. Players that actually start a wagon or join it early and continue to stay on it are less likely jester due to the direct correlation to playing against jester wincon.
In regards to what I said about jester blending in as pro-town, look at my play for example. I started off trolly as I always have when town in this setup, because lulz. But my posts since pointing out the no lyn h mechanics are seemingly pro-town and solvey. Pair that with the fact that I was late on the clemency wagon and I now have way more jester equity than I did early on in the game.

I should clarify on the reverse jester nightless it was the opposite situation, my apologies. The jester in that setup was really a survivor and played in a way that suggested they had scum equity as to not be lynched (reverse setup so you lose by lynching scum in that setup).
I probably shouldnt have included it all bc confusing but if you get where I'm coming from, it's the same idea but reversed

Okay I was way earlier on the clemency wagon than I thought, I think it was because of rooroo and hectic switching votes around or something. but assume I was on the late end of the wagon for this example
so purely on VCA we are looking at something like this. There's no color for jester, they are lumped in with scum for all intents and purposes of what I'm saying.
Yeah my name is green, WIFOM LAMIST etc, we can ignore me, I don't care. I feel good enough about slimer and espresso being not jester that I'm down to lynch them in that order if people don't want to lynch me yet.

But early on? I don't think that's something they're hoping for and adjusting their play for, accidental no lynches don't happen very often, and would especially be avoided in a game like this where it loses you the game.
Consider how long those votes were actually on clemency though. I'm 2nd on the wagon and voted him not even 24 hours before the deadline ended.
Really it gives you and rooroo large jester equity for moving off of the most likely lynch that late in the day
