The Curse of Rata Mall - Hardware Store

A place where you can get discounted hardware as well as Appliances. Or at least it used to be. It looks like it used to cater for both consumers of PC hardware and gadgets, but also cabling, and other interesting things

This is a combination store - it used to sell hammers, nails and hardware AS well as Consumer goods such as coffee machines.

is Xavier Lynch: Male, Early 20s Short, bookish, well groomed, Red Puffer Jacket, skinny.

There are lots of shelves, drawers, and boxes here. An old treadmill in the corner, and there is the persistent ticking of a clock on the wall. An old VCR is for sale, heavily rediscounted for the thirteenth time. There is a television set (CRT) style connected to it, and old style rabbit ears. The floor is dusty as are the shelves. Theres a sales desk as well, but no PC on the desk.

(The store sells a combination of hardware/power tools and Consumer Applicances. You would find stuff like that here, but if anyone came here phase I - they may have found it)

Ok, I do apologize for the delay in updating. It took a long time to get everything sorted today.

Take cables and extension lead

You take the Extension lead. THe box has hundreds of cables, for all kinds of purposes. You will need to be specific about what kind you need.

Explore everywhere , the cabinets, shelving, tools, boxes, that ?, the treadmill (!)

The treadmill seems operational
In the cabinets under the VCR there is a Safe. Its open, and has the pin 1234. It was for sale. YOu can put stuff it in, and choose a new pin if you want.
There is a baseball Bat here. It looks well made.
The toolshelf is empty. The dust patterns indicate that there were tools here till just recently.

The ? is a shelf full of instruction manuals.
They include:
-Vacuum Cleaners for Dummies
-Making your own Aquarium
-Maintaining Nuclear Reactors
-Fixing Ford Motor Vehicles
-Uno Vent Air Conditioning
-Sawing Wood and Gluing Wood
-Lathing

Its a sales model, it has nothing it in. Its designed to be placed on a hot surface, rather than electric.

What are the boxes made out of?

Cardboard

Does the cash register have a barcode scanner?

Not any more, but it looks like it used to have one

Can you tell me more about the treadmill?

It looks fully functional

The treadmill is out of place, you are right. It’s now running.
There are petrol cannisters on the shelving at the back. You grab one. If you look inside one, you will see they are sold with a piece of pipe ready to use.
You have a spare gemerator cable

The vcr is playing DieHard on the tv.

The treadmill makes you feel great. It adds 1 to your base strength, for having used it.

Unfortunately for you, the tools have all gone - only the baseball bat remains.

The room has largely been picked clean apart from the objects mentioned, and there is a cctv camera on in the corner watching you

On checking it, you look at it, and realise, that no it wont. In either scenario.

The camera is now smashed, and lo it has a red laser in it.

You probably better do something about that curved mirror.

Its really boring on your own. You need to get someone alone somewhere, and make it much more fun.

You feel your coat buzzing.

You put your hand in your pocket and discover a small little buzzer going off. You try to remember what it's there fore. You'd forgotten you were carrying it.

Then you realise. It's an alert to someone being in your lab. That's not good. And you are stuck here, armed with a bat, in a hardware store. Hoping the next 3 days doesnt drive you wild with angst.
