Persepia D&D 5e campaign (The Cult of Silver?)

I had actually been thinking of running an introductory 5e one-shot adventure here soon for new players. But I might put that off until later in the year/next year if this picks up interest.

I would be interested in playing with a preference towards 5e but would be willing to learn Pathfinder.

2. Type of character you'd like to play (can be a broad as "I'd like to do magicks" or as specific as "i want to be a draconic bloodline sorcerer")

Probably a fighter or cleric depending on what the party needs

I'd sign up for a game for newbies where newbies are coached.

I might run something specifically for newbies to learn the game in the not too distant future, so good to know there would be interest!

I completed, Nathaniel, Lightfoot Halfling Fighter earlier today.

I don't mind sharing the same class but if you feel like we'd step on each others toes I have another character concept rumbling around I'd love to try out as well!

"Ah, it's Nathaniel, actually. Nathaniel Silverleaf... I'm sure you've heard of me? Never mind."

The halfling strides out onto stage with purpose, chest puffed out. He slowly becomes aware of the sheer number of eyes currently trained on him, as he waits for applause that never came. Suddenly nervous, he shifts from one foot to the other, silently cursing himself for not planning out his act while everyone else had performed.

Lacking better ideas, the halfling draws an elegant rapier from his side, waving it side to side as it glinted in the light. Nathaniel can feel sweat pooling on his brow.

Suddenly and inexplicably, the halfling launches the rapier with all his force towards the target.

"Ahem. What my friend here is trying to say is that we would be happy to take on this ferocious beast for you." Nathaniel retrieves his rapier before drawing himself up in front of the guard, dusting off his overcoat. "I am, of course, well versed in dispatching these sorts of monsters."

"Ah, what kind of beast did you say it was again?"

"I think we should head out now. Strike now before anyone else gets hurt."

Nathaniel turns to Ashlyn, "Stick with me and I'll get you that extra gold." With a wink, Nathaniel nearly trips over his own rapier as he walks out the door.

What time of day is it?

"It's Nathaniel Silverleaf: Adventurer Extroadinaire!" The halfling shoots a lopsided grin at Ashlyn before realizing that the sun is soon setting.

Balking at the twilight, Nathaniel sheepishly steps back inside. "Er, perhaps it's best we set out at first light tomorrow?"

Nathaniel will go with Cael and slap down a pouch of 25gp. He puts his hand on Cael's shoulder, standing on his tip toes to try and at least equal the gnome's height.

"Look, me and Cael here are mighty adventurers, about to deal with a wild beast troubling these parts. If you give my friend here a bit of a discount, we'll be sure to be needing lots of healing potions in the near future. And I can promise you we'd love to be frequent customers of your establishment and your establishment only."

Nathaniel looks at Cael, "I'll split the cost with you if you promise to cover me out there."

"I, uh... can take point here. I guess. If no one else wants to." Nathaniel smiles nervously.

"Let's just take things one at a time... It's possible both or neither of your skills will be needed here depending on the nature of this creature." With a gulp, Nathaniel sets off towards the cave entrance.

Nathaniel yells, a high pitched squeal that echoes off the cavern walls. He thrusts towards the first goblin that swung at him, stabbing wildly.

Fighting back tears, the halfling speaks out again, “Maybe we should look for someone who actually knows something…” Nathaniel is cut off before he can finish, his words too low for others to hear as the events unfold.

The halfling drops his rapier and shield and rushes after the elf.

“Wait! If we split up now, how are we ever going to do any good?” Nathaniel is visibly on the verge of almost blubbering but just managing to keep it together.

"Wait!" Nathaniel's tears have dried but his face is still very much red and blotchy, though he tried to furrow his brow in some semblance of serious stoicism. "You never even told us your name, elf."
