I've been daydreaming about an anti-Rest in Peace card that dredge can run that is better than fragmentize (new dredge does mana for fragmentize better than nature's claim now imo)

The new curse of silence is such an answer to prayer. It's so perfect. Current modern dredge doesn't have enough turn one plays after the faithless looting ban. It's easy to get overwhelming advantage before land 4. And even when they pay four for rest in peace, you get to dredge 5 one last time!!!

first impressions from what I've been hearing: esper colors are way better than the rest, especially b and w. ub is the best archetype, and being aggressive with decayed synergies is very effective.

first impressions from me: format feels pretty grindy, but life totals matter. uw and ugx grindy decks seems good. ur sucks. lunarch veteran is absurdly good for a common.

I went 3-1 with black white in innistrad sealed... I think draft will be better.

Bunch of people in the store talked about flesh and blood having more organized play support than mtg now which made me hrm.

I think Wizards is just waiting for when they think they can safely announce that OP is going to be returning. Unfortunately, Wizards is falling behind other TCGs when it's coming to OP right now.

Just finished my pre-release a couple of hours ago, there were a lot of people in WB it seemed. I was leaning RW or WB while opening my first couple packs, but the commons/uncommons weren't there for it so I wound up going Red Black (had two graveyard tresspassers, Florian Voldaren Scion, and a goodish amount of black removal) and splashed white for ANGELFIRE IGNITION w/ 2 plains and an evolving wilds and it was great and I went 3-1.
Played against WB (only loss and he had tonnnss of good shit, Champion of the Perished+Jadar+Liesa with him finding his one copy of Morbid Opportunist early both games and it doing serious work), then RU, WB again, and WG. Also had Wake to Slaughter and Burn Down the House but they really only seemed to matter a ton in the final match against the WG coven player where Burn Down the House pretty much won both games.

My answer to Gamma’s question was “why not both?” So I went Mardu but only went 1-2 because of the usual reason people don’t build 3 colors in limited.

I brewed up a UR dragons deck right after rotation and it turns out I was not the only one with the idea lol.

This is what I've been playing. Almost up to Diamond in a few days:

i've still not had the experience of ub being absurdly open. maybe i undervalued diregraf horde for too long. don't undervalue diregraf horde it's absurdly good.

not as good as organ hoarder though. that one is better than most rares

It is, I don't see how that's in tension with her post

absurdly open relative to how good it is, i guess.

and the consensus is only among nerds like me who spend hours drafting every day, not the general arena population

They're really deep colors, you're probably supposed to move in even if they're visibly moderately cut
