No wait this shouldn't be overlooked this is really important. The closer you get the baton to the end, the more power you have.

I think it's not just important to give someone the baton to someone just because they're town but someone who will (probably) give it to someone else who you both agree is town. That way more reads can be generated as well as relying less on gut readings.

Honestly I feel part of it is the fact the numbers are so small and there’s only one baton (not to mention that the game has had low interest from the beginning. :c).

If there were more players, maybe a second baton, and a power role or 2 then I think this set up would get a lot more potential but that’s just me.

I think the gimmick is the appeal mainly rather than adding more onto it but after playing something similar... eh. It just strips away elements like wagons, groupwork in favor of individual reads and power. It becomes boring but maybe it’ll perk up day 2.

I’m not saying the gimmick isn’t appealing, I’m just saying for the purpose of making it more engaging. I agree I think a downside is a lack of player agency for most of the players.

However, I think if you add a second baton, make the game 16 players (12t:3m:1surv). Give the town a 1 shot day vig and a cop. Give scum a role too. You add more to player engagement. Make one baton able to pass 7 and the other 8. I dunno the balancing but if you make it less set on an individual’s action and split the game into less of a set line of passing it, and give it a 3rd party for good measure, that’ll add a lot more to agency. I think that’s the secret ingredient missing here, although I love the idea and was really looking forward to this game.

Then again this is a different game entirely, but I don’t see how this linear function of the game can be fixed on its own.

See, that's the thing. I don't think there's scum left. At the very least I think scum would be more inclined to not beg to die or be so flippant.

That being said, I'm thinking of giving the final pass to Vulture. Vulture held a natural progression of energy at the start of the game to where they are now. I feel if Vulture was scum they'd replace out to not let down their scum team. Pooky just replaced in to help move things along. I could see Pooky having the same attitude as either alignment as he is not as invested in the game as Vulture is.

This is an intent to hammer. I'd like to hear town feedback, though.

I did not. 86 was me saying I think how they’re acting is NAI. We had banter because it was RVS and because they recently beat me as scum in our last game. In fact, I reiterated in 307 they were null to me.

My last post is that neither are them are acting as scum would at all and I’ve explained that and my reason for wanting to keep the default most town slot. I don’t have strong feelings either way but I still stand by what I said.

Wisdom gave me some ideas that might've made more sense at 2am last night than they do now, but 2am me might've been onto something.
The nature of the mechanics of this game is that pressure is trickier to enact, thus the "strong emotion".

I feel I'm an odd choice for the baton holder. I had a few days to think about this and I still want to give it to Wisdom. I feel he town slipped by risking dying to wait on passing the baton for Margot to post.

Out of policy, I'm not giving the baton to the first holder of yesterday (Clem), as I should not receive it first or second tomorrow if given the chance. They're also a null slot.

Isis is also null.

I light tr Enchant, but I want to see more from what they were hinting at d1 to see if they were just bsing.

Rat and Pooky are at the bottom of my poe starting d2. I can realistically see that as the scum team based on association. 356 is the main culprit for that. On further thought, while Pooky and Vulture were doing the same thing virtually, where it differs is where they were coming from, which I didn't account for at the time. Vulture was coming from dissatisfaction while Pooky could just as easily come in as either alignment and said what he said. This could prompt rat's 356, and his justification of 379. At the very least I was pressure here, but I think this is where my scum team is.

What MY dumb ass didn't realize at the time is that Pooky being your partner also makes sense with your reaction.
Nevertheless, you've gone from giving me 100 to near 0 paranoia, next to Clemency, but even then, he's a gut read.

Also Enchant was the nk specifically because he gave scum the stick both times and I didn't think he'd give the stick to us again on the off chance Wisdom didn't want to give either of us the stick.
