The Curse of Kowhai Mall

You are a police officer responding to a callout about a dead body in the mall. Apparently a body was found in the mall, stashed in a Tesla display model. From what you understand, the body has been moved to a safe location.

Goals

1. Find the body in the mall
2. Find out who killed the person, or the circumstances of the death (eg was it an accident, deliberate, natural causes, etc)
3. Report your findings back to Police HQ to find out what they want you to do next.

Once done, unlike other players in the game, you do NOT need buy yourself a train ticket, board the train and exit the mall. You may drive away in your police car. You may take other players with you if you so desire, but anyone you put in the back will probably be in handcuffs

The Gun may or may not be an instant kill, however, once fired the other player or NPC player will have 24 hours to take evasive action (if possible).

You check out the Tesla. It seems to be pretty cleaned up. It's locked up tight. Your keys however are not for this tesla. If you want a closer look inside the tesla, you may need to find where the mall stores the keys for it.

Importantly as you are replacing in during phase 2, we will allow you to chose a room to go visit from any listed in the thread, once you have caught up.

You will be able to communicate with anyone in the same room as you, via private threads.

During the Eatery phase, Xalxe did vist the Phone Desk: You can read the subthread here: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=87883. Xalxe did fail to visit the Santas Grotto, bookstore, Service desks. You may do so now if you want.

At the finish of the Eatery phase, Xalxe failed to submit a choice: SO you can stay here and investigate stuff, and spend time with Matthew (Battle Mage) who is out here with you, or you may choose a room to go visit. The antique store reached the room capacity of 4, so you cannot visit there. YOu can visit any store without a Padlock in the graphic:

The strangest thing about standing outside watching the storm is that you suddenly feel like you can hear conversations you shouldn't be able to hear. Snippets. One or two lines, out of context. It's a bit odd.

You now have a MANA statistic added to your game. The meteor storm has somehow given you 6 Mana points, and Mana seems to have given you the ability to overhear private conversations. At the cost of 2 mana points, you can choose to listen in on any pair of people, and for their next 10 posts you will get snippets of what they say privately (if anything). If they do not have a private thread, you will miss out.

You do not know of any way to restore mana once spent.

You check out the tesla, and it all seems normal, but when you check the boot, the boot smells bad. Its like something died in here. But the car is spotlessly clean as far as you can tell. It also smells of bleach. There is definitely something suspicious here, but its hard to say exactly what.

You were a ghost investigating your own murder, however other players have now completely destroyed all the evidence you needed to be able to win. On discovering you were a ghost, you would have gained a new goal. As your win condition was rendered impossible, the ghost hunter was able to finish you off quickly.

Thanks so much for filling in. I was in a jam when you came in, and it was made harder by players finding and hiding everything you needed to progress - sometimes without knowing thats what they were doing.
