Pandemic
Pandemic is a co-op game for 2-4 players where everyone must cooperate to find cures for 4 diseases before one of several loss conditions is reached.
I will be running the game myself and posting board images using a program, although I am also capable of playing if there's a shortage of players. You will not need a copy of the game or any other app installed to your device, since this game will be played entirely via the forum.
Please refer to the Original Rules (image heavy) for how to play the game.
Spoiler: Game-specific Rules
1. Each turn will last up to 48 hours from the time of the board being posted. The turn can be ended earlier if the player in charge at the moment decides to submit actions early. Extensions can be granted if necessary.
2. Only the player whose turn it is at the moment can submit their actions, unless the host allows the other players to do so.
3. If you don't post for 72 hours in a row or miss an action deadline twice in a row, I will start looking for a replacement. I can also replace you of my own accord if I feel that you haven't been active enough.
4. If you are not playing, please do not post in the game thread while a game is in progress.
5. Make sure to bold your action submissions.
6. No rule-breaking moves. Obviously.
This game will be a standard "no expansions" game with up to 4 players. I might later start more games with expansions included if interest is high enough.
To enter, just post /in or something similar in this thread. The game will start on the 6th of November, 2021 or whenever we get 4 players.

thanks for signing up!
if you still want to play, we have one decision left to make before the game starts: how many epidemics do we play with?
4 is recommended for newer players who want an easy game, 5 is a “normal” difficulty of sorts, 6 is quite a bit harder and 7 is extremely hard and suitable for experienced players

hey! sorry for not really dealing with this at all.
I haven’t heard anything from nancy but if you’d like, we can do a 3-player game like I said before. since charles said he has never played pandemic before, we’ll go with 4 epidemics.
let me know if this is okay and if it is, we’ll be starting soon!

Please submit a turn as soon as possible.
In post 62, Farren wrote:1) Move to (your choice of Washington DC or Miami; don't think it matters which?)
2) Treat Disease
3) Move to Atlanta
4) Move to Riyadh
It would take the worst two of his four actions to move to Riyadh on his next turn and give you the Riyadh card this way. Alternately, you could do this:
1) Move to (your choice of Washington DC or Miami; don't think it matters which?)
2) Treat Disease
3) Treat Disease
4) Move to Atlanta
It would take the worst to three of his four actions to move you to Riyadh, meet up with you, and give you the card.
Would one of these be okay? (also, the next time you want to play event cards, please play them as part of a full turn submission; it’s easier to track that way)

3) Move to Atlanta
4) Move to Riyadh
i weakly prefer this in the short term.
+1
@mod, let’s go with this then, thanks.
Alright.
Just choose a city for the first action and then I’ll process it as soon as I can.
(also, apologies for putting this off, I should’ve sent a prod or something)

Miami
I didn't notice this at first, but apologies: the fourth action seems to be illegal since there's no way for the Scientist to move to Riyadh (the Dispatcher does have a Riyadh card but unless the Dispatcher is controlling someone, only the Dispatcher can use the card to move someone).
Please submit a new action or change the fourth action.

Disregard this: I forgot that Government Grant was played earlier, which placed a research station in Riyadh. Apologies.

2. Move to new york

4. Move to Paris
@Nancy we can meet in Moscow for the share research
Please bold your action submissions.
I’ll also be extending the deadline by 24 hours since you didn’t have a chance to catch up very quickly.

Player card draws: Shanghai and St. Petersburg
Infections: Chicago and Istanbul (blocked by Quarantine Specialist)
Discard pile:
Current turn: Turn 2.4, Quarantine Specialist: GeorgeBailey
Deadline: (expired on 2021-12-15 20:00:00)
Congrats on your first cure! Discarded player cards that are the same color as cured diseases will now be kept in the second discard area offscreen on the bottom. If you would like to see this discard pile for any reason, just let me know.

Player card draws: Beijing and Manila
Infections: Miami (blocked by Quarantine Specialist) and Washington (blocked by Quarantine Specialist)
Discard pile:
Current turn: Turn 3.1, Dispatcher: the worst
Deadline: (expired on 2021-12-17 20:00:00)
I assume that by "shuttle", George meant a Direct Flight (which requires you to use a card), not a Shuttle Flight. A Shuttle Flight allows you to move to any research station while you are also in a city with a research station, while a Direct Flight requires you to discard a city card and then moves you to the corresponding city. Let me know if that was what you intended to do or not.
In post 129, the worst wrote:- teleport over to Washington.
- take Washington card from George.
- teleport George to Khartoum.
- move Nancy to Karachi? i'd probably appreciate Nancy's input on this if she's around. to me it makes sense to have some spread towards the east (especially since we're all headed to NA).
I'll lock this in, please.
Action 4 is illegal: there's no way to move the Scientist to Karachi in one move. Please revise that action or tell me if I'm wrong for some reason.

Player cards: Kinshasa and
EPIDEMIC
Epidemic city: Tokyo
Infections: Kolkata, Paris and Tokyo
Outbreaks have occurred in Kolkata and Tokyo! Currently at 3/8 outbreaks.
The infection rate is now 3! 3 infection cards will now be drawn every Infect phase instead of 2.

In post 198, Farren wrote:Okay. Whenever Epidemic cards are drawn, everything in the Infection Discard pile gets shuffled and placed back on the top of the Infection Deck. So that's why Kolkata and Paris showed up again so soon - the Epidemic put them back into play and guaranteed that they'd show up again.
Here's a problem: Resilient Population can be used during an Epidemic, between the Infect and Intensify steps. But I wasn't given an opportunity to use it.
At that time, if processing had paused between Infect and Intensify, we would know with 100% certainty that Kolkata and Paris would be hit - those were the only two cards in the discard pile at the time, and they'd get moved to the top of the deck.
@mod
:
does this justify a rewind back to the Epidemic processing, between Infect and Intensify, so we can decide whether to use Resilient Population on Kolkata, preventing one of the outbreaks?
(Something else will get hit instead, so I don't think it's a 100% no-brainer ... ?)
…yikes. I did indeed forget that Resilient Population can be used during an Epidemic.
This was a mistake on my part, so I’ll allow the use of Resilient Population as if it was during an Epidemic. If you want to do so, please submit the action on its own.

Use Resilient Population on Kolkata, during the Epidemic.
Noted. Resilient Population has been discarded and the outbreak in Kolkata has been undone. Currently at 2/8 outbreaks.
Also, I removed the red cube from San Francisco since it was in range of Quarantine Specialist at the time of the Tokyo outbreak and thus, the cube couldn't have been placed.
In post 237, Farren wrote:1) Move me to Paris (which should auto-treat it - maybe confirm with lendunistus?)
@lendunistus
- sorry for the informal question, posting quickly. Would this work within one action from me?
Since Farren is in Madrid and Paris is connected to Madrid, this is indeed achievable in one action (since Dispatcher csn move pawns as if they were moving themselves).

Oh, wait, this was about the auto-treat. There is a clarification on the final page of the rules that says the following:
“The Medic’s automatic removal of cubes can occur on other players’ turns, if he is moved by the Dispatcher or the Airlift event.”
As such, Medic does indeed auto-treat Paris if he’s moved there by the Dispatcher.
