  - You have 48 hours to confirm your alignment by PM. Game will start sooner if 8/9 players have confirmed. Posting in a private topic counts as confirmation.

Phases and Activity.

• Days
  - Day 1 will last up to 10 days. Each subsequent day lasts up to 7 days.
  
• Night
  - Nights will last 48 hours. Players who have not posted within 24 hours before the beginning of the night phase must check in during the night via PM or they may be replaced. Night may be shortened if all living players request it.
  
• Activity
  - You must post at least once every 48 hours or I will Prod you. You then have 24 hours to post in the game thread or I will seek a replacement. A player who has been prodded 3 times will be subject to replacement with no further notice. Saturday/Sunday count as a single day for prod purposes.
  
• Vacation/Limited Access
  - If you need to be absent for an extended period (48 hours or more), please declare your V/LA. While you are V/LA, the prod timer is doubled (96 hours/4 days). If your V/LA will last more than 5 days, consider requesting replacement.
  
• Prodging
  - A naked "prod dodge" does not reset the prod timer. To avoid being prodded/replaced for inactivity, include some game advancing content in your prodges, such as "got prodded; xxxx is still scum."
  
• Eliminating
  - Players are eliminated during the day phase by a simple majority (# living players/2 +1).
  
• Voting
  - Use vote tags or bold tags to place votes. You may shorten the player's name if it remains absolutely clear whom you are voting for. As long as it can be reasonably interpreted as a vote, I will accept it. Do not attempt to use this rule to engage in vote trickery. If I think it's a vote, it's a vote. Examples of acceptable votes: VOTE: Pavowski;

• No Elimination
  - No-elimination is possible. If the day phase deadline elapses with no player reaching a majority of votes, the day will end with no elimination.
  
• Twilight
  - Begins when a final vote is reached and lasts until I lock the thread. You're still alive until I flip you, so you can talk in any game threads you have access to until then, but no votes or unvotes will be counted.
  
• Daytalk
  - Mafia has daytalk.
  
• Action submissions
  - Night/Day actions must be submitted in the appropriate PT, or via direct PM to the mod.
  
• Play to win
  - this particular game, not some future one, and keep it fun!

ON REPLACEMENTS.

If/when a player replaces in, living players will have a grace period of 12 hours to reach out to me to veto a player replacing in. This measure is simply to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of all players. Please be prepared to discuss your reason for a veto, as I mean to be as fair as possible to all players.

SETUP

Medical Mafia

Players:

• 2 Mafia Goons
  
• 1 Doctor - Protects their target from a single action that would otherwise kill them
  
• 1 Weak Doctor - A standard doctor, but dies if it targets a member of the Mafia (while still protecting that player)
  
• 1 CPR Doctor - Saves their target if their target would otherwise be killed – otherwise, kills their target
  
• 1 Paranoid Doctor - Locks their patient in a room and blocks all actions targeting that player AND blocks that player’s action (functional Jailkeeper)
  
• 1 Quack Doctor - Kills their patient instead of protecting them
  
• 1 Naive Doctor - Does absolutely nothing, and overcharges for the convenience
  
• 1 Nurse - Assumes the role of the first doctor to die. If multiple doctors die simultaneously, the mod will randomly determine which role passes to the Nurse

Game information:

• Every player who is a Doctor is not told which version they are, and when flipped, will be revealed only as "Doctor" (full roles will not be disclosed until the game ends).
  
• Doctors who successfully protect with their night action only stop a single nightkill.
  
• The CPR Doctor's action will always resolve LAST when a player is targeted by multiple night actions.
  
• Taking no night action is allowed.
  
• The Nurse will always flip as the Nurse, even if they have inherited a protection ability.
  
• Endgame Ruling: Mafia win when they control 50% of the town, regardless of whichever Doctor(s) are still alive.

Day One Begins.

Good morning!

You’re here because I need a new team. You’ve all been selected to intern at our prestigious hospital and, potentially, join my team. Congratulations on your tremendous accomplishment.

I’m here to remind you that you’re all idiots. I’ve consulted your records and it turns out that there is exactly one of you who knows what the hell they’re doing. The rest of you may think you know something about medicine, but what you know wouldn’t fill up a fly’s jockstrap. Among you are an assortment of quacks, knuckleheads, and just plain morons who are just as likely to kill your patients or yourselves if we actually let you practice medicine. The problem is, because I am "irresponsible" and "high too often," I may have misplaced the records, or set them on fire, or both, and I can't remember who's who. Because of this, and since you’re all interns, there is absolutely no way that the hospital admin would allow any one of you within fifty feet of an actual patient.

Luckily, because you’re all interns, you’ve all pre-emptively signed away your protections and waivers and given your consent for this room full of mouth-breathers to practice your “life-saving techniques” on each other. So, anyway, good luck with that.

Oh, and also, it seems like there are a couple of spies from a rival hospital who are actually just here to kill off my interns. Doesn’t make a damned bit of sense to me, but I’m going to allow it, just to see what happens.

Every day, you get to vote somebody off the team, and every night, you hopefully get to save each other from death. I’ll be picking my team based off of who’s left whenever I get bored, so let’s keep things interesting, shall we? The competition begins now, so figure out which one of you is going to be bagging groceries for a living after I kick you out of the program.
