What do you mean how much is required?

If you're not familiar with how it usually works generally each team member for the team plays in one game and then how much you pay attention to/read the other games of your teammates is between you and your teammates and however you want to handle it is fine. Just make sure you and your teammates are on the same page about how much effort you are going to put in/expect from each other before hand.

I assume there will be mod monitored team discords? If that's the case it would be helpful if players had some amount of editing permissions for channels and stuff so the team could structure the discussion.

I know in the past theres been concern about players changing communications but like I don't even know what communications we're even trying to prevent among teammates

Understand it might not be a reality but would strongly prefer teams of 4 if at all possible.

I suspect that generally what will happen is that interested parties will reach out to people they want to play with who may not show up in this thread.
