Why would we be trying to cater to players that might not even be joining the game? I’m not going to play games from the standpoint of how it’ll read for someone potentially repping in. Seems like an unnecessary burden to have.

I agree with you, I’m not seeing that as anything but NAI, do you see something? If I were to try and think deeper it would kind of meld with what I recall ketchup saying that is trying to position themselves in two different places. One of which they “want to” push the game forward but also hold it back. Not sure how much I agree with it but I definitely see it somewhat in their posts.

It also feels like a lot of their posts are again positioning themselves more than taking the game naturally, most notably the last pages interaction with ketchup. Specifically them saying (paraphrased) “Yeah they’re town but they’re wrong though” feels a little forced

How do you know he’s not willing to reconsider his reads? To assume you know better than anyone else right now is very odd to me. No, I am not just disagreeing with his reads. I am disagreeing with his approach to the game. I have provided reasons for why his read was wrong, and he has dismissed them. Prior to that he basically made fun of my frustration with his approach to reading me and the game, an approach that in a world where I am town (which happens to be this world) is completely unconstructive. My complaint is not that he disagrees with me but that he has completely dismissed any worldview different than his own, and for no good reason at that.

Is calling it out condescending to him? Maybe a bit. But I also happen to know that I am town and that his play isn't helping him, or any other player on the side of town, to solve the game. So even if it's a bit condescending, yes I'm going to call him out. I am not asking him to change his reads to be a better player, I am asking him to change him approach to be a better player.

As a friend, I think you need to soften up. This entire game you’ve felt like you had a stick up your ass, it’s not even anything ketchup is doing wrong. However I feel like not voting her and voting with her is useful for me in developing my reads. You could say I'm in self preservation mode and that won't even be incorrect, as I was literally at E-1 and I don't feel like getting limmed today when barely nothing has happened and I don't trust town to find scum tomorrow because I myself have 0 clue who scum are. But aside from being in self preservation mode I'm also in "I really want to do something other than vote people I don't feel strongly about" mode, and voting skitter is not gonna help with that while voting straightflush is.

582 was the first obviously hostile post, starting an argument with Jackson. More telling, however, is 587, where he says he's "voting the only person he feels comfortable voting". He then exchanges a couple more nothingburger posts before retiring for the night. The next morning he comes out swinging with a Jackson vote at 680, refusing to elaborate further. He also says "finally, a wagon" when there is no semblance of a Jackson wagon at the time, suggesting he thinks more people will support him than actually will because he's just that much smarter than everyone else. From there he begins arguing with Ketchup and positing that he is simply bad at making reads, and starts mansplaining all over the place. The Jackson vote strikes me as petty and the continued arguments with new people strike me as desperate. KayJay then probes Dragon about his behavior and insists in 692 that his views are not just shaped by ketchup's opinions of him, saying that there are other examples, but refusing to cover those other examples in any more depth. By 761 he seems to have cooled off and reaffirms his vote on Skitter, but just a few minutes later he sheeps Ydrasse's vote using evidence that already existed well before he had any inkling of suspicion about me, which is shallow and reads like kowtowing for towncred to accelerate the decline of the wagon on him. I also read his sub-out as petty but apparently we're supposed to avoid talking about that (unrealistic) so I'll leave it there.

Dragon was the only person trying to move the gamestate forward for a while, which was towny at least in theory (more mixed in execution), but he declined so sharply more recently, especially while I was sleeping last night, that I simply cannot ignore it.

I’ve stopped townreading that a long ass time ago, it’s such an silly reason to townread someone since it’s usually just hit or miss. It’s accurate only because it’s more likely to be town by numbers alone. That’s my stance on reading someone “pushing out of rvs” just on its own. I didn’t check back posts, but I slept on this feeling and I think it’s coming from the fact you are all experienced and you/skitter seem to be pretty connected and I’m like not at all connecting with you. I’m experienced too and this separation doesn’t feel right, it feels off. I’ve at least narrowed the feeling to you and skitter.
