Oh, hay guys, his vote is completely random and therefore it's okay.

Yeah, except in a game without a random voting stage--- or even voting in general, any RVS is artificial and pointless.

So if the RVS is artificial, is the randomness of your vote?

What do you mean, it doesn't follow?

For someone to pointlessly shout, "HEY I'M VOTING BECAUSE IT'S THE RVS!" four pages into it when we already have things to discuss... that's artificial.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have structure, or discussion, or anything else. I'm saying that there's no random voting stage because we moved out of it before it started. Therefore, is the "random vote" artificial? Was it just an excuse to vote that person?

I'm not denouncing the voting entirely, Captain Literacy*, but denouncing the fact that we don't actually have a random voting stage, and the fact that someone would say "HEY LET'S START THE RANDOM VOTING STAGE" four pages into the thread.

Try and follow along:

1. The point of the random voting stage is to generate discussion.

2. Therefore, once discussion has become meaningful, the RVS ends.

3. If there is meaningful discussion beforehand, there is no need for the random voting stage.

As I've pointed out, this makes an attempt to start a random voting stage at best pointless and at worst, a distraction from valid discussion.

Stranger, do you not understand that your weapon endangers not only the person you're targetting, but likely everyone around him?

Are you seriously going to threaten to fire a tactical nuke at him this early in the game?

see, what makes me suspicious about Xyl is that he basically Fritlzer'd out. Which, okay, if you want to be the Fritlzer and get the first kill, I really don't care. I don't. But then you try to back it up with a completely ridiculous excuse. And you stick to it.

This is what *I* don't get, Coug, you had a perfectly passable weapon, which you know would have likely been sufficient to kill Xyl. And you also know you could probably get one of us to finish him off if you didn't manage to one-shot him. But you put the rest of us in danger by picking up the most devastating splash damage weapon in the game and threatening to use it on a whim. Especially when your previous weapon could have done the same job.

There was plenty of information to go on--- We told him to leave the redeemer where it was. We told him we weren't comfortable with him wielding a weapon whose splash damage could potentially kill the rest of us. He not only picked it up, but threatened to use it with blatant disregard for the pro-town members of the game. Frankly, his attitude at the time I fired reeked of someone who didn't care who he hit. He was warned--- several times, and while I may have acted rashly (matter of opinion), the fact is that I wasn't willing to allow him to be holding the 'deemer when his recharge was up.

Drop: Bio Rifle

Pick Up: Minigun

@Mod: I know you have the bio rifle listed as on the ground, but I picked it up when I dropped the Shock Rifle

Of course he's mafia, dummy, he's my partner.

to be fair, I never received the stats for the flak cannon, so I didn't know that and just assumed :P

anyway, gg nextmap. Kai won this for us, his endless strategy was the perfect balance to my mindless killing. I killed veerus out of invisibility because Kai and I knew he was charging up his weapon. (though we thought maybe it was the Impact Hammer)

I think that was part of why you got to stick around for endgame. :)

It was funny when kai said, "yes, FL, it IS bad" and fired the 'deemer at her. He had sent me a PM that said he wasn't even gonna bother pretending to be town anymore.

I especially liked the fact that I never even had to answer for killing SC because shit just hit the fan.
