Fate, Keyblade, why switch from what the dice rolled?

Pomegranate wrote:Oh!

I gave in my numbers already, without consulting the thread beforehand. Maybe it's possible to change them, I don't know.
What was your last set of numbers?

I claimed scum though .-.

Anyways. I submitted 9 and 6 as my numbers. I may or may not change them depending on my dice role results.
Original Roll String: 1d15 (STATIC)
1 15-Sided Dice: (7) = 7

Original Roll String: 1d15 (STATIC)
1 15-Sided Dice: (11) = 11

Third dice roll to decide if I am changing or not:
Original Roll String: 1d7 (STATIC)
1 7-Sided Dice: (1) = 1

Not telling what the results of this one mean.
What's the point if dice rolling if you can decide if you want it or not?

The dice roll was largely pointless, but it would have been even more so if everyone just bailed from it (especially without announcing). You should have said you were changing, rather than just doing it. Show me your crumbs.

Also, 12 different numbers were picked this time (only 9 were picked last time). You would assume scum spread out over 5 different numbers, although it's hard to pinpoint where because of so many single/double X numbers.

Just ISO me.
YOU AGREE THAT UNLESS EVERY SINGLE PLAYER DICE ROLLS IN THREAD THE POINT IS DEFEATED!
I TOLD YOU GUYS I WOULD BE THE
LONE DISSENTER.
Wait Hoopla. You of all people...

No, you couldn't have.

Really? You did?
AKA-Hoopla you're really losing the draft? You're not lying and switching your numbers behind your town's back like me?

Not that I need to defend myself. If you think scum would be so bold as to lie pre-game like this then I'm flaterred. Scum obviously just lurked while deciding like I predicted.

HINT: If they picked numbers they read this thread. Aka, our scum are most likely the people who have not posted in this thread after Socrates' plan.

On another note, I'm having trouble predicting which roles will be taken above me. I'm thinking about going for bomb again and hoping for the best ;)

@MOD:

I STILL don't get this freakin draft.

EIGHT

Was the number NO ONE PICKED. Therefore, isn't NINE closest to EIGHT, and therefore all the people at the bottom should be on TOP?

I noticed this last game (where FIVE was the one no one picked, yet the draft seemed to reflect 10-11 being the numbers no one picked with me and Socrates up top).

I think this is how it works:

Step 1: Take all the first numbers that only got picked once and order them, that's the top of your list

Step 2: Group all of the numbers chosen by more than one person and order them by the first number.

Step 3: Within those groupings, order them via the second number, if there's double doubles, they go at the back of their group.

Done.

The 9s are last because it's the highest number chosen by more than 1 person. You're missing the word 'else' from your question.

Eight was picked by noone at all. Only 1 person picked 2,10,11,12,13, therefore noone ELSE picked it other than them.

Having said that, if I'm right, the example draft is wrong :P

this is genius. Every time we find a scum, that is a solid reason to think anyone sharing scum's number is unlikely to be scum.

Except for those who rolled, possibly.

Thanks for the wifom, Fate.

Also, the draft works like this;

1) All players that picked a single number (2, 10, 11, 12, 13) go first and get ordered from lowest to highest.
2) All players that share a number with one other person (1, 3, 5, 6, 7) go next, and get ordered from lowest to highest.
3) All players that share a number with two other people (4) go next and get ordered from lowest to highest.
4) All players that share a number with three other people (9) go next and get ordered from lowest to highest.

Yeah I thought that might solve my issue with the example draft. But the only one with more than 2 people on it also happens to be the highest number with multiple people. That explains it.

I love me some WIFOM.

Also what's the point of the fruit vendor again? Having someone low in the draft confirmed town?

Meh.

Someone low in the order that gets mislynched a lot should pick it.

Also all the nine-pickers rolled in thread? None of them should pick it since they're all town. Coincidentally, none of the 9s should pick scum roles unless it is one that might not be for sure in the game, (since they can't pick them hoping to keep scum below them from getting it, as I don't think we have any scum in the 9s.)

I just want to point out Gunsmith and Weak Doctor are good town roles that should be considered somewhere around the top/middle.

Also, if a townie goes for Janitor and gets it, they need to claim in their first post Day 1, so we know scum doesn't have it.

Why would you need them to claim immediately? It merely narrows down the numbers of people with pro-town roles for scum to kill.

The only reason to use it is as scum, so we know that if it gets used, scum has it. I would think it would be more imperative for a townie that went for it and DIDN'T get it to claim straight away. That way we know that if it happens, there's scum above them somewhere on the list. Also, they're a VT so less likely to draw scum-fire, and if they do, it's guaranteed not to be on a PR.

Later, if we were thinking about directing kills, it might be nice to know if scum could screw with us with it, but I don't see how we need to know early D1?

I disagree.

Scum won't have the janitor if people... DON'T GET JANITOR'D.

And when people don't get janitor'd and someone eventually claims Janitor as town, we know they are most likely probtown.

Also I found something interesting. The other site I play on Janitor "rakes in" the person janitor'd. Such that THEY get to see the flip instead of town, aka guaranteed fakeclaim.

How does it work in this game Spyrex? Both town and scum don't get to see the flip?

Weakdoc is nice in a mason-group btw. Having someone who can reveal who you were going to target when you died for protecting scum is nice. And you can protect a guaranteed townie if you want.

Weak doctor should be used as a town confirmer, not a protector imo. There are better roles for masons.

Valid points against the Janitor claiming.

I agree, and having a mason partner with prior knowledge of who you're going to 'confirm' is fantastic. Means the scum can't WIFOM your kill, and if you hit scum, while dying, your partner at least basically gets a scum cop result.

It takes a tricky role that without announcing to the entire game who they're going to test can't really find scum, to a very, very strong role in a mason group.

Was just pointing out that the addition of a safe 'protect' could come in useful as well.
