Lady Lambdadelta rubbed her eyes as she turned away from her computer screen to gaze out the window at the London skyline. It was a Friday night, and the city was bustling with activity. Alas, she was stuck inside working on this damned encryption. It was a total waste of time - not because the encryption couldn't be broken, but because she had already broken it. After all, it's not that hard to solve a puzzle you wrote yourself. But Langley didn't know that. To them, she was just another agent secret agent stationed abroad. So long as she threw them an occasional bone, they would be satisfied, right?
"Here is our latest interception report and my attempt at a decryption," LLD typed rapidly into the CIA database. "Please keep me posted on any news flashes."
LLD smacked the submit button, then paused. Submitting code analysis without a solution signature was risky - if her work was ever audited, she could be in big trouble.
A firecracker boomed over the London skyline, and LLD shoved the issue from her mind and walked out the door. It was Friday night. She wanted to party, not solve her own code, and Langley wasn't going to do anything anyway. It wasn't worth it. Time to hit the club.

[Day 4, DEFCON 1]

Toogeloo wiped sweat from his brow as he passed the last document through the shredder. Time was short. He glanced at his watch for the 87th time in the past hour. Working as a double agent meant nonstop stress for sure, but it had never been like this before. MI6 was on to him - if he didn't get out now, he was a dead man.

But he wasn't going anywhere until he had destroyed as much data as he possibly could before his evac arrived, which the 88th glacne at his watch informed him was in eighteen minutes.

Toogeloo dashed over to the computer mainframe and located the harddrive array. Several turns of a screwdriver later, the drives had been unplugged and placed safely in his bag. Twelve minutes to evac.

He stepped in the elevator and repeatedly mashed the "Ground Floor" and "Close Door" buttons. The elevator must have not understood the gravity of the situation, for it did not increase in speed. Ten minutes to evac.

He walked as calmly as he could towards the front doors. "Have a good evening, Director," a security guard nodded at him as he exited.

Toogeloo didn't respond. As soon as he had cleared the entryway sidewalk, he broke into a full sprint across the parking lot, over the guardrail, and in to the fields beyond. Two minutes to evac.

He pulled a firecracker out of his coat and waved it around in the air. In the distance, he could hear the roar of helicopter engines. Sixty seconds to evac.

The grass whipped around his feet as Toogeloo waved his arms up and down at the Blackhawk over his head. He breathed a sigh of relief He was safe.
