Just curious, how long does it usually take to be placed in a newbie game? I'm find with however long it takes, just wondering if I did something wrong.

Usually within a week, these days.
Look at the
first post of the Newbie Queue - about halfway down you'll see a heading for "
Newer Players (x/6)
". When a game has 6 Newbie Players and 3 others (usually 1 IC and 2 SEs, I think), it will be given to a moderator by the List Mod. Your name is in the second grouping of 6, which means one more game has to fill before yours can start. You can see how close the IC and SE lists are to filling as well.
