Game Rules:

General Gameplay:

1.In order for all players to play at least one game day this game will start with a Day phase. Communication outside the thread (if your role specifically allows it) is allowed until the game begins.
2.As a general rule you should aim for one post every 48 hours, minimum, to keep the game moving.
3.If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 72-hour period please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – please don't leave us hanging!
4.Prods of missing players will be issued after 72 hours of no activity. Any player who fails to post in-thread within 24 hours of being prodded may be replaced.
5.No prods will be issued during Night
6.A player who is eligible for a third prod is subject to possible replacement without further notice.
7.You may not quote private Moderator-supplied information (either real or fabricated) of any kind. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable.
8.There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM specifically allows it. If someone contacts you outside the game you should report it to the game Mod IMMEDIATELY.

During the Day:

9.Each Day will have approximately a three-week deadline, subject to change as the game advances. Extensions will be given only in extreme circumstances, but always feel free to ask.
10.A simple majority of all living players must agree on one person (via voting) for a Lynch to occur (simple majority = ½ # of living players +1, rounded down). If no one has a simple majority of votes at deadline a No Lynch will occur.
11.Once a player has reached a simple majority of votes no further unvoting will change their fate.
12.Once a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; all players may continue to post.
13.Once you are dead (either via lynch or night kill) you may no longer post except for a brief “Bah!”-type post that contains NO game related information.
14.Votes should be bolded or they may not be counted (e.g. VOTE: Player).
15.Vote revocations should be bolded or they may not be counted (e.g. UNVOTE: Player or Unvote). Unvotes are not necessary before changing votes, but are appreciated.
16.Votes/Unvotes should be placed on a line all by themselves to make them easier for everyone to see.
17.Votes/Unvotes that reasonably follow the guidelines specified above, and are unambiguous with respect to player nicknames/abbreviations, will count.

During the Night:

18.Each Night will have a strict 72-hour deadline. Extensions will not be given, unless a player has to be replaced during the Night.
19.If you have a role with a Night action, your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline you will forfeit your actions. Mafia roles may submit their choices in the mafia QT.
20.Any player with a Night action may instead submit a “No Action” PM to let the Mod know that you do not want to perform your expected action that Night phase.
21.Roles with Night actions will not be able to submit an action on Night 0 (i.e. during the confirmation stage).

27.The Mod may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.
28.Rules violations will be dealt with according to their severity, up to and including a Modkill, as the Mod sees fit. Modkills may be accompanied by a change to day/night and the offender’s role will be changed to Neutral Survivor, which guarantees a loss.
29.Any situation not explicitly covered above is subject to Mod discretion and will be handled as the Mod sees fit on a case-by-case basis.

Corporate Espionage Mafia

It was a day like any other at MafCorp, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Filing papers, sending e-mails, top-secret research. The usual.

At least, it was the usual, until the phone on Dazzy’s desk rang.

“Hello?”

“Umm Sir, we have an issue in the R&D department.”

“I’ll be right down…”.

Dazzy surveyed the scene, an assistant hurriedly taking notes on anything he said.

“Manually uploaded worm virus caused a massive hardware failure on servers storing Project Phoenix data. Only one backup survived the attack, and will require time to recover. Another attack such as this would result in a total loss of data, and the scrapping of the project. A USB and a note were found at the scene. The only people with access to the terminal which uploaded the virus... are the Science Team.”

14 people. The best and brightest from around the world, but apparently not the most loyal. They had been working on Project Phoenix for years now. Dazzy had asked security to gather them all into a conference room. He walked in, adjusted his tie, and began speaking to the assembled scientists.

“Hello. You all know why you are here. There are traitors among us, those who wish for this project to be destroyed. This will not be allowed to happen.” A guard approached and whispered something to Dazzy. “It appears one of our competitors would prefer to steal our research than destroy it. Two samples of Project Phoenix have gone missing from the labs. Corporate espionage at its finest, hmm? Does anyone wish to confess?” Silence… “I thought not. Well, in that case, we’ll need to do a bit of investigating. You are not to leave this room until the traitors have been found. You know each other best, so it will be up to you to find out who has lost their loyalty to this great company.”

“Excuse me!” One of the scientists spoke up. “I don’t think I need to stay here for this. I’ve been given quite a bit of cash to simply walk away. I don’t have the samples, but I’m not going to help you find them either. I quit.”
Security searched his pockets for the samples, but upon finding nothing were forced to let him leave.

Dr. Thatguy,

Scientist

, was bought off Night 0.

As he left, he bumped into another one of the scientists, who dropped something from his pocket - a USB key!

Dazzy acted immediately - "Security, grab him. Dr. Nahmless, you know that USB's are not allowed in this division. And look, this is the same type of key as that used to attack the servers..."

"It's not mine, I swear! Someone must have planted it on me! Please, believe me!"

"That may be true, but we cannot prove it either way. Please leave the building." The guards escorted him out.

Dr. Nahmless,

Scientist

, was framed Night 0.

Dazzy was troubled. "I have a feeling they will not be the last to leave us before this is over. Twelve of you remain. Be warned, if too many of the team members are fired or quit, this project will have to be scrapped. Let us know when you have decided who the traitor is, and we will fire them immediately.” He left the room, followed by the security guards and his assistant, still frantically taking notes.

"Yes that's wonderful. Get in touch with HR, let them know that Dr. Licious will be leaving our employ. Dr., do you have anything to confess?"

Dr. Raspberry Licious spoke up. "I didn't do anything to your damn computers, and I sure as hell didn't steal any samples, but I'm starting to wish I had. Hey, I don't even care. I'm out of here."

One of the team members spoke up "It's felt like more than three days. It's been torture! We need more food..."

"Now, now, that's ridiculous. Who in their right mind would put something this important on hold for three days?"

Dr. Lucky Jt suddenly raised their voice. "Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm off to enjoy a nice juicy steak. Have fun with your bologna people, I've been given a better offer. Consider this my two-minutes notice." Lucky stood up and quickly left the room.

Dazzy, annoyed, addressed those remaining. "Well, our 'friends' are still at work I see. You."

"John, sir"

"Yes, yes. Paper. Now."

"Sorry, sir, fresh out."

Dr. Chri Mi spoke up. "Oh I should have some in my briefcase, one moment." Opening their briefcase, a stack of paper was visible. And on top of the paper, a USB key. Dr. Mi looked up, shocked and concerned. "That... is not mine..."

Dazzy shook his head in disappointment. "Be that as it may, you cannot prove it, please let this gentleman escort you out."

The security guard led Chrimi out of the room, head hung low.

"It seems two more of your potentially innocent colleagues have been made to leave us. Keep discussing, but hurry it up."

"What, are they done already?" Dazzy stepped through the door, "I swear, if they keep..." He trailed off as his brain caught up to what his eyes were seeing.

Dr. Kc Daspot was dancing on the conference table in the middle of the room. He had his tie wrapped around his head and his labcoat tied around his waist. He was yelling...

"WOLOLOLOLOLOL I'M KING OF THE WORLD! HAHA MAYBE I'M YOUR BOSS? NO, NEVERMIND. DANCE, DANCE, WE ARE FALLING APART IN HALF TIME"

"Dr. Daspot..." Dazzy turned to the guard who brought him. "What is going on here?"

"Well sir, they were all discussing who might be traitors, and people seemed to agree that Dr. Daspot was the most likely person, and suddenly he pulled out a USB and started, well,

." Dazzy now noticed the USB tied to one end of the Dr.'s tie.

He tried to get KC's attention. "Doctor."

"WOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL"

"DOCTOR!"

Kc turned to Dazzy. "Ah! The overseer! Hehe you caught me, I'm really the CEO! UNDERCOVER BOSSES! No, not really. Here you take this," He tossed Dazzy the USB. "and I suppose I'll be on my way." Addressing the rest of the room, including Dr. Kabuto, who seemed to have fallen asleep in the corner. "Before I go, I just wanted to say, you should probably take a look at that guy, and that guy, and that guy, but not that guy.

Verrry suspicious

The guard led Dr. Kc out of the room, and Dazzy turned to address the remaining team members. "Well, now that that's -"

"WOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL"

"- over. I think that's a good sign, you've actually caught one. Of course, that doesn't solve the matter of the stolen samples, or the fact that we are quite sure Dr. Kc had a partner, and the team is only getting smaller. I'll leave you some more time to rest, but then you simply MUST catch the remaining traitors." He left the room.

Actually Dazzy just turned the lights on. "Wake up everyone. Time to get back to 'work'."

The room let out a collective groan as team members slowly raised their heads from the conference table, eyes blinking wearily.

"Hmph. I see no one appreciated my cooking skills. I spent hours telling my assistant guy to make you all delicious sandwiches, not a bite taken."

Dr. Kass Adin spoke up. "Food here worse than old country. I come to this place for good job, I find terrible ketchup sandwich. Project doomed, I go back home with payoff now. In Soviet Russia, job quits YOU." He stood up and left the room. Dazzy followed him with his eyes, clearly annoyed.

"Ugh.

. Anyways, if our 'friends' have stayed true to form, I now have to fire one of you for holding a USB key that is not, apparently, yours. Who will be the one to plead innocence today?"

Everyone slowly began checking their persons. As Dazzy watched, Dr. Darkling Perhaps turned around to check his bag, revealing a USB key taped to his back.

"OH COME ON! Now they're just mocking us. Darkling! Get out of here, you're done." The creature wearing a lab coat turned back around, gave an angry shriek, and dissolved into black smoke which quickly filled the room. The USB dropped to the floor, where a security guard picked it up.

"Get the fans on, I always told him no smoking in the building. I guess that's what I get for hiring a trans-dimensional consultant." He turned an angry eye upon the rest of the room. "Find these people. NOW!"

Dazzy walked down the hall, assistant at his side. "So, what's happened now?"

"Well, sir, it looks like they've come to a decision on who they think is one of the traitors. They asked for you to come down and witness their official ruling."

"Alright then, let's see if they've become more competent. Hopefully I wont have a hollering maniac dancing for me this time..."

As he entered the room, Dr. Wes Shirk was yelling at the remaining co-workers.
"I'm not one of the enemies here, damnit, you all are corrupted beyond belief. I demand that you reconsider!"

Dazzy interrupted - "I'm afraid that's not an option. The decision has been made. Do you have anything to confess?"

"No. I'm not one of the traitorous bastards who've ruined my life's work. You people can go to hell, I'm done here."

Whiskers continued muttering as keycard and employee ID were handed over to the security guard who had accompanied Dazzy into the room.

As the Dr. left the room, Dazzy turned to the rest of the team. "Five of you left, hm? How many of you would sell us out in an instant, I wonder... I'll give you another break. Hopefully that will help you clear your heads so we can finish this. You, James ('John sir'), get me a coffee and some Aspirin, I'm going to go bang my head against my desk for a while then do some job hunting."

Dazzy walked down the hall. John and a security guard followed behind.

Dr. Myshotgun was waiting just behind the opened door. "Ah, hello Dazzy. I'll be leaving now. You can take these," He dumped a handful of USB keys into Dazzy's hands, "and I'll take some money and run. Cash is so much more rewarding than social justice, I've found. Destroying you no longer matters. Oh, by the way, Dr. Che there was in on it with me..." He left the room, shoving past a stunned Dazzy.

Dazzy turned to Dr. Psy Che. "I'm going to assume he's lying in an attempt to frame you, but you're going to be fired anyways. Please tell me that you are one of the theives..."

Dr. Che paused for a moment, seemingly considering what he was about to say.

"No. It's not me. Give me a moment and I'll find the USB he planted on me... Ah, here it is." He removed a USB from his breast pocket.

The guard moved forward, taking the USB and leading Psyche from the room by the arm. Dazzy watched him go.

Psyche -

was Framed Night 3.

As he turned back to the table, Dr. Tre Vor and Dr. Hav Ingfitz were grinning at eachother. They both stood up and started walking towards the door, leaving Dr. Molla at the table.

"Jack, get security." Dazzy said to his assistant. He got no response. "Jack?"

"For the last time," Dazzy suddenly convulsed as a tazer was pressed to his back. The tazer turned off and Dazzy fell to the ground, revealing his assistant in the doorway, "my name is John". He addressed his two comrades - "Let's go, Project Phoenix is ours."

Hey Everybody,

That's game! This was my first experience modding and I think it went relatively well. A big congratulations to Team MAFIA, who successfully stole the samples of Project Phoenix and escaped without a single casualty.

If anyone has any comments on my handling of this game, re: Constructive Feedback, PLEASE let me know so that I can improve the player experience in the future. I had a lot of fun with this, and hope you did too.

It was interesting that there were no cross kills until the final night. It really put the town at a huge disadvantage. However, the Mafia team's play was pretty good. Fitz was hardly one of the top suspects and Trevor managed to avoid much focus throughout the game.

One thing I'll say is that the Masons didn't seem to use their Night talk much to their advantage. I've never been a mason myself, but I would have thought the sharing of reads and conversations would be more prevalent.

I believe most if not all of them are Kcdaspot revealing things from your Wolf QT/your identity. Either he changed his mind or I deleted them to preserve a little bit of suspense for the other Deadies.
