Ah yes, "Bastard"
title that Umbrage or whoever suggested for me. That was f**kin perfect and you know it!
Also, UNICORNS. And hi Xalxe! <3
Got tired of Choice, did you?
Also, no. Titles are earned, not given.
He's not Choice. I'd advocate giving him his title if he outs himself as UberNinja though.

wut?
Staeg.. We don't kill/banish people we title. We'll remember Amrun just fine because she'll still actually be around to interact with.
Tons of people have titles of incidents that aren't particularly memorable beyond the fact that it earned people a title (i.e. me, Oman, Thok, {most people with a title}). The Youtube tag discovery incident was a) hilarious and b) notable for the fact that it introduced the youtube tag to MS and changed the site culture. It's definitely mafiascum.net related and it's somewhat mafia related because it mentions killing. (

I just love the dichotomy that he is super professional and good at his job, then he gets home and takes out his frustrations on people that present him with stupid, stupid logic.

Kinetic's nom is funny and I like it.
The two caveats are 1) Kinetic may not like it (depending on his sense of humor), and 2) it's a little inaccessible to newbies (but then aren't all titles?)
In post 1137, Kublai Khan wrote:So Om "solves" a problem of spammers not posting spam and he gets a title? Okay...
Let's just reward anyone bored enough to spend an hour or two combing through usernames, then.
To be fair, the same can be said of anyone who gets a title "just" for a contribution they've made to the site. Like Amrun for the youtube tags, or even Tierce getting one before the "eligible" date because of the caching she did for the site. I'm sure there's even more examples but those are the only two off the top of my head.
To be fair Amrun's title was based on a humorous event (she didn't create the youtube tag, just discovered it) and Tierce's title was based on doing something incredibly productive and useful. Om just uncovered a whole lot of benign inactive spammer accounts. It's the equivalent of pointing to someone's mole and announcing that you've found cancer. It has the appearance of being helpful, but really isn't at all.
But whatever, I'm in the minority. I've said my piece and most disagree, so *shrug*.

because he worked really hard and we're all really, really proud of him.
It's more or less the same reason for the stupid SpamWow title you guys are nth-ing to give him, but it's more accurate and isn't stupid.
Propose
new rule to the title fairy thread: If your argument for/against a title is "but, but, but what about <existing title>" then kindly STFU and GTFO.
That's my 2 cents. Since I made two great points early, I'm going to withdraw those 4 cents, for a total of 6 cents and add it to Flameaxe's previous 4 cents, making this a friggin motherfricking dime's worth of motherthunder knowledge dropped on your asses. Deal with it.

Oman said he wanted more discussion before he makes up his mind. I think it's a horrible title and a pretty lame reason to award a title. So I'm making arguments against it. Do you always ask shitty questions and insult people when you don't get your way?

I dislike it. So I'm arguing not to reward it. As is my right.
So you should get a bad username pun and I shouldn't get one for helping the site?
If this is all about encouraging good behaviour then I don't know why you're arguing against a title aimed at ridding spam from the forums.
1) I had zero input on my title, never approved it, and generally acknowledge that's it's awful.
2) Where did I ever say you shouldn't get a title? I even nommed you for a title.
3) You didn't "help the site" or "rid spam from the forums". The accounts you linked to were old and not posting any spam besides some link in their sigs that nobody would ever see. It won't stop future spambots from posting spam.
4) The false altruism kinda bothers me as well. "I did good! Gimme title!"

In post 1238, Om of the Nom wrote:1) Then why do you have your title if you never approved it? Isn't that against the whole spirit of them in the first place?
2) Your title suggestion was terrible and you should feel terrible.
3) I've been posting spambots since March 25th (or 24th in American timeones). Those long lists were just the tipping point that caused the nominations. I've been helping to get rid of them for a long time, and I am not going to stop doing so. Sure, the lists won't stop future spambots, but neither will deleting them in the first place. Doesn't mean I won't find them when they appear.
4) Frankly this is coming after the fact and doesn't really say why I don't deserve it. You're trying to make it sound like after I get the title I'll just cease hunting spambots or helping the site when really I won't do that.
1) Dunno.
3) Ugh.. You mean you think you're extra special because you use an intended forum thread for it's intended purpose?
2) Re-consider the "Gold Star!" nomination.
Any user can recommend a title for a qualified user. It is a simple request that extraneous titles are not suggested on a whim, as these clutter the thread. To recommend oneself for a title is bad form, it is a gift from the peers, not something to bestow on oneself. However, users are encouraged to become involved in discussion of their own title within the thread.
Abuse of the ability to suggest titles, by suggesting insulting, or otherwise frivolous titles will result in that user's privilege being removed.
Note that Site Ideas (including Title Fairy) is covered under the site rules, and abuse may warrant reporting to Site Admins.
I'm looking at you KK.
If you're insulted by it then that's your choice. I frequently make snarky quasi-insulting title suggestions, but there's no malice behind them. (for example: chesskid's title) I think Rhinox is 100% right that it describes your need for recognition and validation, which are perfectly normal traits for any 13 year old to have.
