To seperate LoL/Dota thread. If you oppose doing so, deal with it.
Post your steam name if you play and I'll keep a list in this post.
(MS - Steam)
BBmolla - BBmolla
Hinduragi - Hinduragi
Neruz - PheonixIV and\or Invertible Hippopotamus
Darox - Darox
Panzerjager - audiotsunami
Knights of Cydonia - mentlegen_oh
So Clinkz being played in competitive games and winning. Hell certainly has frozen over hasn't it.
In post 6, Hinduragi wrote:Just going to throw out there that I suck because I don't know what anyone does and one second I'm farming, the next I'm getting 3-second stunned and then nuked accordingly because I got in range of the wrong hero and didn't know it.
Steam: Hinduragi
I suggest you play some bot games to learn all the different heroes and what they do, you don't even have to complete the games just figure out what different heroes do and move on.
If you have any questions, ask. Also if you think you're ready to play but have no one to play with, shoot me a message.

SUPPORT:
-Start of game buy one of wards/courier. If your team are all ass hats and don't buy one of them, you buy both. Buy some combination of Tangos/Health Pot/Mana Pot/Branches.
-Ward should go up near a rune, there are a few great warding spots that I can point out if needed. The point of this ward is to stop mid ganks to your lane and show your mid hero where the rune is.
-While in lane babysitting your carry, harrass the crap out of the enemy who attempts to melee the creeps. If the enemy support tries to harrass your carry, hit the bitch with an attack.
-Save spells for when the enemy is low(half healthish) and then let your carry know you want to kill the enemy. Then do so.
-KEEP BUYING WARDS! A support with a force staff will not matter if your team has fed due to lack of wards. Wards can save your team from an insane amount of kills, and any time you see "stock: 2" on the item, you should be buying a pair asap.
-If your carry appears to be able to hold his own or the enemy team has left the lane, feel free to leave the lane to go gank other lanes. Just make sure you have wards up for your carry.

Mine was 1867ish, Platinum league, 98% better than everyone else. Don't remember exact number. Thought it was fairly high when I discussed it with others who I knew, especially when looking at the percentage.

I need to go shopping today for a bit, but I'm down to play with you when I get home. The game is just complex, you just need to play it till you know most things.
Right now is a good time to get into it, the International 3 is coming up (The big Valve sponsored yearly tournament.)
The best way to play is with friends, so definitely do if you can. I have an invite or two if you have someone else who wants to play but doesn't have an invite.

Honestly, right now I'm really attracted to becoming an Offlaner, as the heroes that are good at that are closer to the ones I play in LoL.
I play a ton of Dota, and I'm still not all that great at most of them. (Visage comes to mind.)
I do suggest it be something you work on over time, but for now you're fine just playing non-micro heroes.
Control groups are a huge part of microing.
Edit: Some heroes like Brewmaster are super easy to micro though, it'll switch heroes with tab and once you know what each of your panda elementals do, it's easy peasy.
