Finally starting to get into this. It's quite a bit of fun, but it's kinda complicated, even compared to League of Legends.

I just need to practice my mechanics, and mostly the one that League doesn't. I have a really tough time using pets or switching between groups because I've neer had to do it before.

Edit: Is there a possibility I could become a good player, but ignore champions that need to use these groups and switch between pets and themselves? Honestly, right now I'm really attracted to becoming an Offlaner, as the heroes that are good at that are closer to the ones I play in LoL.

At weird hours of the night

I mostly play windrunner because she's super easy and she reminds me of the AD carries in league.

I also really like Mirana. I played Skeleton King earlier and he was decent. I've just been playing people willy-nilly. Furion is mad cool but mirco-ing the trees hurts my feelings. Lion fucking sucks but when you stun someone and then give them the finger of death and they die, you're like "LOL YOU'RE DEAD", it's pretty damn funny but you can only do it like..once every 3 minutes.

Saki how does it compare to league

My limited knowledge of the game can give you this (limited) information.

Dota has: No Brush, The CC is Longer and Stronger, Altitude can sometimes block your view(most notably in middle lane river), AA animations are clunkier/longer, last hitting under tower is much more difficult, no summoner spells, no masteries or runes(well, there are runes but it's totally different), NO DRAGON!!!, Jungles aren't symmetrical, Towers are more touchy(they will hit you if you are the closest thing hitting them after the finish a creep and you have to hit an allied creep to make it stop), No ability power so pretty much all Intelligence heroes become supports or initiators, Barracks(inhibs in LoL) don't respawn, and the game winds up more slowly because you lose gold when you die.

I personally don't like some of the things that DotA has to offer, but it is a completely different experience and has a very steep learning curve(steeper than LoL's mostly facilitated by the counter-intuitive WC3 leftovers.) All I can really say is that you should give it a shot yourself and walk into it with an open mind.

That's kinda what me and my friend did when we started a few months ago. I come from a LoL background but I still just can't get into DotA. Losing completely demoralizes me to where if I lose my first game i'm done. I'm at lower level and lower MMR so all the games take way longer than they should, with the writing being on the wall for far longer than I'd like without the option of a surrender vote, which is probably League's best feature over DotA.

Even though I absolutely hate it from a competitive standpoint(especially as a lower level player) I've found I'm a bit more suited to support heroes in DotA than I am to any type of carry or semi carry(outside of Abaddon who does his move for you lol). I like playing heroes like Ancient Apparition but I still don't how to do things like pull creeps.

So i'm back playing DotA at least for a bit. Played Disrupter for the first time. How is this guy not the best hero in the game?
