Whoever added end dates to the V/LA ribbons--a hearty thank you. If this was active before, I missed it, but I think it's new--and it's very, very handy.
Sigs longer than 3 lines now get auto 'spoilered' using the new hide/show feature.
Removing the use of actual spoiler tags from sigs now that the automated ones exist.
Is there any way that this be made an option, rather than an essential limit of 3 lines? For one, it limits one's method of advertising games (yeah can make argument that those with longer sigs nuke the rest of it, but that's not the point here).

Katsuki's Madness coming to you shortly: Nov, 2011!
Increased the limit to 4, unlikely to go any higher. May incorperate it into the option for disabling color/bold in sigs, If I were to do that I'd likely make the option on by default instead of off as it currently is.

Also going to experiment with making this a global announcement for a few days whenever I add something.
You seem to be making one of those classic "feature/bug" confusions. This is clearly a bug. It must be a bug, since otherwise it's apparently a solution that you desperately tried to find a problem for and failed. Then decided to solve it anyway. There is no point to this, and instead of doing something useful to help the site, you wasted your time doing *this*.

Just nuke annoying signatures on a case-by-case basis instead of instating a policy such as this one - it currently also hides signatures with three text lines and blank lines between them which is perfectly fine.
No. It's not a "superior option" because signatures can actually have a use. For example, I quite like that IceGuy can advertise his game with a short little tag. I like that someone can put a one or two sentence quote at the bottom. A short sig actually helps break up posts a little bit in a good way when rereading a game thread.
But I don't need to read the same conversations over and over or a list of all their favorite movies or whatever. It encourages people to keep it short and sweet, which is exactly what it should be. And if you want to go longer, that's fine. You just have to accept that not everyone will be forced to read your signature.

And this approach covers up most of the sigs you want to keep on account of being stupidly short.

Why would you read a sig more than once if it looks the same as it did last time? Seriously. I'll generally skip over most signatures unless they look different from what I remember.
And 3 lines is too short. Bella is right, if you open up Oman's sig, had that button not been there, it'd fit perfectly. Someone tell me how Oman's sig is too long. Please.

It's a decent point, but a few things: First, the impulse to have longer sigs will be seriously curtailed. Second, see my comment below about white space vs. clutter.
All that said, I wouldn't mind if this were the default and there were an "automatically SHOW all signatures" option in the UserCP.

Well. That's kind of my point. I'm done with the signature after the first time. But it remains to clutter the screen. That sounds like a petty point, but it's actually pretty important. White (or in this case verrrryy light blue) space is a good thing.
I also wouldn't mind if it automatically showed the first 2 or 3 lines and then had a SHOW or EXPAND or MORE button for anything longer than that.
I was looking at Jackal's sig on the signatures thread, and it looks like it collapses and expands the space to show it, unlike Oman's. I don't know why that is.
This is a signature. This signature has many bright colours, and the font Comic Sans. Just because a sig is SHORT doesn't make it GOOD!

No one is saying that the only way to create an annoying signature is to make it cover a lot of lines. We're saying that the site as a whole benefits when we don't have really long ones. And this obviously isn't a panacea. Bad signatures can still be reported.
Also, nothing like a petulant response to harm your cause.
Kind of want to change my sig now just because people are referencing it.
Anyway: Ani, your protest sig is fucking stupid, the point is made, there are people trying to talk about it in a mature way, and you're being obnoxious again.
