Especially pack 3, that's really not all that unsurprising.
Elgaud underrated? I don't think anyone says it's a bad card, but it's not a bomb.
Latch Seeker gives me nightmares in Limited.
uh...there's like 8000 answers to 1 toughness dudes
In avacyn draft vs. an unblockable? Hard removal is few and far between where black and red are the weakest colors and underplayed to begin with (in my experience).

there's tons of bounce and tapping in blue, there's hard removal and ghoulflesh in black, there's burn and guise in red, there's defang and righteous blow in white
green is pretty much the only color with no good answer, but if you're in mono green you can outrace a latch seeker anyway
Yeah there's stuff to deal with it, but you have to have the removal first. When you're heavy into a RB Aggro deck that didn't really pick up much burn/removal, a 3/1 unblockable isn't really a fun thing to deal with, then he added the +3/+0 equip so 3 turns later I was deader than dead.
Ski mask? Check! Sawed off? Check! Guilty conscience, fear of death? Check! Check! Check!

Ok, I just drafted what I think is a pretty ridiculously incredibly super ultra bad deck, and went 2-0 round one. Let's see if I can pull off more? I'll cap the list in the next round.

I don't know what to say about this draft right now. In the finals with the above deck.
edit:
So, I won. 2-0, 2-0, 2-1. I'm not even sure why.

It's just like every core set. Designed to give each colour things that it doesn't really need, but will help push archetypes in standard, but also a big cohesive unit to play limited with. I'm more excited for this core than the last one, but that doesn't mean much.
3-0-2 on individuals saturday (2 recluses on both sides stall games), 3-3 in twoheaded giant sunday. Enjoyed myself, though like every coreset limited might get a bit boring later in the season.
So, my experience last night comes down to Zealous Conscripts being a huge bomb in limited. I pulled it in at least 5 games, and it outright won 4 with the opponent scooping as it came into play. Seraph of Dawn is an absolute workhorse, and Cloudshift makes for some silly offensive plays. That single Pillar of Flame saved me from Latch Seeker twice, and Angelic Armaments makes things like Thraben Sentry deadly. I think a lot of people are going in to Avacyn and really devaluing the few pieces of removal available, and pay for it. Everyone was running in-your-face aggro, but my sloppy picks turned into a measured deck that just stabilized then outpaced every game. I think evasion is paramount to Avacyn, not just fast/big creatures.
Fun facts:
-The last game took 17 turns, ended with Zealous Conscripts+Cloudshift stealing the opponents only two flying creatures, then getting in with all my angels after an interesting stalemate.
- Zealous Conscripts + Cloudshift won me two games. Zealous Conscript alone won me 3 other games.
- My very first pack had a Cavern of Souls and a Druid's Familiar. I actually meant to pick the Familiar, and probably would have drafted a completely different deck if I hadn't misclicked.
- That 3/3 spider with reach for 3 is sick. Every game I played ended up with maybe one answer to my flying creatures, but it was always enough to stall the game until I pulled something like Conscripts.
- Commander's Authority + Angel's Tomb worked out really well for me one game.
- That red 2/2 intimidate vampire for 4 is really good.
- Latch Seeker and Fettergeist is soooo strong.

I got 3rd place out of 8, it wasn't too shabby. But I got fucked by a Miracle +4/+4 counters in a big game where I was U/R burning a B/G deck with that +3/+0 lifelink thingy and big creatures.

Counter #2. Found a place in town that has proper beads. No luck on the pins though, so Moonscarred had to sacrifice hers. My next one's going to be a bit more ambitious.

I was thinking about trying a R/G reanimator. Would it be too unfocused to have that running birds (of paradise), hunstmaster, defy death AND/or unburial, and some meaty creatures (forward thinking, I'm staying away from Scars block in paper) like an Avacyn, Moldgraf Monstrosity... or w/e. I feel like there's too much going on maybe, but I guess having the right dual lands (Rootbound Crag, sunpetal grove, Dragskull Summit?) could make it cohesive? Maybe strangleroots and huntsmaster as early game, or I could go with burn, or black removal?
I'll proxy test this before I commit that much money, but suggestions?

I did a few trades ditched a lot of the blue so it's now a splash, threw in a stonerwight, havengul vampire, thunderboltx2 (debating baners instead of another thunderbolt)
and yeah fleeting wa sa 40th card
and vexing is basically just 4 burn for 1 mana. Which isn't bad at all, just isn't great.
