cos scum can muddy the waters, move a bw off a scummate etc etc. I am used to a 24/12 hour format and you know what our town record is pretty good. an extended amount of time gives town the opportunity to wifom themselves to death over their reads and make bad choices and for scum to take full advantage over that or at least that is what I have noticed in extended deadlines and untimed games.

lol that is Tierce though... Keep on with it. At some point, NS and I may hydra since it is way too difficult for us to play in the same games (with one of us modding works though). I am not sure that it is identical and I don't understand why you see it that way. I think my town game and scum game look very different but then I have been lynched as scum 5 times in 31 games so I dunno which is roughly a little over 30% of my games. through my indie roles and you are looking at about 40% nontown roles. I think I have rolled scum so many times my town game has suffered for it. I am always looking to improve it though. my mentors have told me that I am too hard on myself and this comes across in my posts and my reads even though my reads are generally pretty good it is just how I there is a very different process than what most people are used to.

You're mixing up my posts. He's not null based on reputation; he's null because I can't read the guy. I said I'm biased towards asking him to stop tunneling because of reputation. okay so plz explain as to why I look scummier than thor? did you notice that thor has a town read on me? you copypasta-ed the reasons for your reads from d1 and a lot has happened since then but you are not reevaluating or coming up with new reasons. this is called "being sticky with your reads" and is often a scumtell, however I cannot tell if it is one for you yet. in the completed game we played together the feedback you received was to slow down (it was in response to the lylo situ but is applicable to midgame too) and to do some reassessment of what is going on around you and I am asking you to do it now. also highlighting yourself as vt before you are even at L1 makes you a possible recruit for a cult faction and that would be dumb if you are town. some gms will allow prs to be recruited but not always so cult tends to go for vt unless they have an idea that that pr roles are recruitable.

I think we started with 2 scum (hi thor!) and 1 cult leader. an ft flip would provide some of that info but why would we lynch him? cos town will not want to do that, not with the read and reasons he gave, let scum deal with him if he is cult or a pr. if we have a doc you know what to do.

so at this moment town could be dealing with 2 scum and 2 cult and 4 town. those are hard odds for town. if we lynch majiffy and he flips scum and then scum will deal with ft then and town is in a better position to navigate towards a town win. if ft flips cult then that is a done deal. if ft flips town cop then he just steered the game into a town victory and broke it wide open.

the weirdest reaction to all of this is rach's. she has been trying to make deals since d2 started which is what cult/indies tend to do. if ft flips town cop this is your cult leader right here I am thinking. unless it is voided with a rach recruit and that would kind of make sense wrt rach's 180 on thor and majiffy.

I feel good about jacob cos either team would want him around for endgame. notice how nobody is even

at him when he has dropped some clanger posts. cult could recruit him later or scum could pin a lynch on him in lylo.

a majiffy flip would also clear hd.

So we have a way to limit SK kills
A way to limit Recruits
A SK/Cult Cop
And a JOAT who has forgotten to use his powers even though some of his powers require him to use them to even get other powers, and whose claim is backing up the cop claim.

The JOAT feels like the wtflolomg addition. Why the hell wouldn't you be fishing like a boss at the very least?

Ugh, also, at this stage, we have so many PRs that I do not believe the PRs to be telling the truth *or* if they are then there is no assurance that PRs are cult immune.

I'm starting to think it's FT/Voided in some situation for the Cult Leader.
I actually lean FT right now - he could have figured Majiffy by not being able to recruit him and then just confirmed pretty much anyone today. Voided's play, if lying, was done in a way to protect FT and not to make Voided look good - which considering my conversation with Voided could be as simple as him going for the Cult win as described. Though if they figured Majiffy via a failed recruit that makes less valid sense. I think my boggle is accepting Voided as town right now, but he either is town or the cop is lying. The two weak protective powers make a lot of sense paired with each other - and neither of them are a Doc, so I'm wondering if maybe the whole cop/doc thing is all a sham and Voided is talking true.

Okay, quick thoughts;

I think Voided is likely provably 'not cult leader' simply because no sane Cult leader would derp up a claim as bad as he just did at this stage of the game.
FT becomes a question mark, lack of a Doc in Voided's role combined with lurk and not reading which does not speak well for a cop who just did a big win for town and arguably really helped his side - I would expect him to be present and excited and pushing, instead we have this.
I think Jacob is off the table - his role meshes really well with the Alarmist role for balance and is a logical weak role, conversely both the JOAT and Cop are strong roles and the only way I think both of those could be town was if they could be recruited *and* Mafia or Cult got some sort of break from them.

I think Rach continues to scream for lynch.
I think HD isn't leader and wouldn't have been culted.
Since at least one of the JOAT/Cop has to be legit I tend to lean towards Voided as still being clear simply because if he was a Cult Leader he could have just gone 'VT' and ridden to the win without risking his recruited cop.
I think Mollie would have recruited me by now.

okay well I think voided's claim is the weirdest one that is 3 town with potential views. that seems a bit imbalanced? I had early suspicions of ft cos of his dust up with majiffy and then the way he came into the thread with such a firm view. I already put forth the scenario that he could have been cult leader and tried to recruit majiffy and that is how he knew that majiffy was scum. if that is the case then we are not in lylo.

and I believe I did put forth my suspicions but I thought your in-game play was good at the time and it seemed too high risk/reward in a cost benefit assessment.

the thing that gives me the biggest pause is that majiffy would have wanted the cult leader out of the game too and he was pushing for an hd lynch. majiffy has pretty good scumdar. I find it hard to believe that he would willingly leave a cult leader alive he would have been hunting for them pretty hard.

rach I don't play to people's rep cos I have seen the results of that and also cos I am simply not easily intimidated

when you cater to someone's rep you essentially hand them the game regardless of their alignment. where is the fun in that not to mention it ceases to be a mafia game. it happened to my main mentor which is why he retired. I am watching it happen to another player on my homesite. I read her as scum after 2 posts and tried to get her lynched in a recent game for 4 freaking straight days and nearly succeeded each time but there were 4 townies who had her in their town pile for dumb reasons and I pretty much went hysterical. their reasoning was mindboggling but nacho trusted my read and vig killed her and town won the game. it took an outside person to consider the possibility that she was anything but town. there were other players who got there in the end and were ready to lynch her the next day but by that time I am not sure it would have been enough.

I have been in that position too but ended up having to bow out of the games on that website cos it seemed to me like I had an unfair edge.

the best way to treat really strong players is to challenge them...that is what keeps them around. but not stupidly. <----laughing at myself cos sometimes me closing loopholes in the way that players reason things out will on the surface look pretty dumb or "bad" but it is how I get a firmer grasp on their presence in the game lol
