Why is a "vanilla-townie"-claim so frowned upon?

Claiming vanilla townie isn't neccesarily a bad thing. If you're about to get lynched it's your duty to help the town by surviving even if it increases the chance of death for the other players. The problem is that a vanilla claim doesn't prove a bloody thing. Anyone can claim vanilla and there's very little someone can do to prove or disprove it. Cops can give investigative results, vigs can kill, docs can say who they protected and the town can use that info to deduce what happened. Claiming vanilla doesn't do any of that. So it's not helpful.Show"Logic is a systematic method to come to the wrong conclusion."

Mgm: Right, exactally. If claiming townie would somehow stop you from being lynched, it might be ok, but it shouldn't do that (unless there's also flavor involved or something). In fact, because I think a townie should never claim townie, I'm less likely to trust someone who claims townie then I am to trust someone who's just refusing to claim.
There are exceptions, but they're not that common.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-
