gg scum team! I never seriously considered ICEninja for scum.

Sorry I tunneled you so hard TvK. I went from a town read on day 1 to a scum read on day 2, and it was mostly based on bad PoE with 2 scum in my townpile.
Amid the pressure of great events, a general principle gives no help.

Wake's role PM:

Quadraxis - Town Shield

You are the Town Shield. You have two options on how to use your role:
1) Once during the game, target two players to be protected. This will protect them from being killed that night.
OR
2) Twice during the game, target one player to be protected. This will protect them from being killed that night.
The targeted player(s) is not informed that they were protected. You will not be informed if you protected the player(s) from a kill. You may not protect yourself. If you do not notify me of a decision before night's deadline, I will count it as a No Action. You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive. Please confirm by stating your role and affiliation in response to this PM.

When Falcon sent my role PM to my Quadraxis account (before I alt-slipped) it said I was the Town Shield, with a versatile 2-shot Doc ability.

Everything here was scrupulously followed, and you were

Oh, OK. I figured this was a theme game with flavorized roles, and that "Town Shield" sounded like something in a space-themed game. Bah.

Wake you should've known already not to gambit like that.

Especially
when you only have your gut

ICENINJA WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

you are going on my can't read list

you are way too good at this game

I dunno the fake paranoia was just too good

And I still don't understand mme

Why did you call your own post scummy if you knew it came from a town mindset? That was one thing that stood out to me.

What I learned from this game:

You need to look deeper into your strong townreads. You
really
need to.

...that was something I don't really have time for nowadays. So fuck that.

Don't judge someone's posts by a few scummy things

(I really need to re-iso mme and see where I messed up there)

Also, if everything scummy someone does can be explained by plastyle, they are probably town. (This applies to when I thought wake was scum the first time)

If you need to know what my reads were when, read the dead thread.

This is why I don't do gambits anymore, or trust my gut. And because Scum love logic, which is why I've never lost as Scum in 5-6 years, what else do you have besides speculation?

Where's the outrage when someone gets mislynched? Where's the outrage when a gambit works?

Now I'm inclined to never do gambits even if it costs Town the win.

This was a Normal game. It is in the rules that Role PMs are
not
flavored according to the original flavor the mod wants to apply to their game. And you had the following in the very first page:

And Garmr, you should have listened. We hadn't lost yet at the start of Day 4, and I sure as hell didn't twist your arm to vote me.

Yeah, I messed up Day 3, but NOT Day 4. If you were Town you could have listened to reason over revenge.

Well, shit. I missed that. I must have confused it with a Mini Theme, especially because of the whole space-themed part of it.

Also: don't judge someone's alignment based on how good they are as scum. It varies wildly from game to game, and who knows why. The first time I was scum, I was one of everyone's top townreads. The next time, I got lynched the day I replaced in. This seems to be similar for iceninja.

PEdit: Good idea

I mean, you need to be sure a gambit will work before you do it.

Also, a lot of it is site meta. I've heard you come from another site. Here, if a gambit works, people say things like "that was so risky" and "what if it had failed?"

Just a heads up.

PEdit 2: The game was lost as soon as reg claimed doc; he was too strong town

Scum would've won if it had just regfan in it

Also, Infinity, people shouldn't judge people based on how good they are as Scum.

I could almost here the shrieks when I started questioning Ffery, because, *gasp*, she's universally Town. Same with Reg.

What doesn't make sense is why Ffery didn't go full-blown rage mode the VERY MOMENT I faked a guilty on her. That shit has happened to me, and I raged and got it thrown off.

Instead, it's like at first she didn't even acknowledge it, and asked me unrelated questions. You tell me how I'm supposed to react to that. Apparently it had MME convinced as well. I only regret not doing this to ICE instead, since I KNEW he kept shifting, twisting, and mislynching. I wouldn't have gambitted if I didn't have to feel like this was a popularity contest.
