So I am sort of expecting some hate mail about this setup since people seemed to find it weird.

It is 100% normal though. All roles can be either town or scum in a normal (the wki pages explicitly says that all roles listed can be scum aligned) and all modifiers/roles in this game are listed as explicitly normal.

The idea behind the setup was to encourage scum to PR hunt some given the swingy nature of the role distribution.

I felt it was fairly obvious Yates was scum given 3 town PR flips, but I can't recall the last time Ive seen a mafia backup either (which is part of why I wanted to run one : P)

The town pwoer was partly selected around the Mafia Backup role. Roles like Cop/Gunsmith would be too op for town since Mafia gets no power to start with. Rolecop and Roleblocker made a lot of sense since they are useful to town, but also want to avoid being outted since they help the mafia Backup a lot.

A vig couldnt be in the setup because that is too powerful for mafia.

I considered a Jailkeeper over the RB, but the balance seemed about right with the RB. 2 PRs on town side that can hard-guilty or PoE out innocents with one scum left seemed a solid composition.

Yates I am truly impressed.

Though it seems awfully swingy having a universal backup as a scum role, it is usually a town role in smaller setups. That is what through me off.
