I believe the
Potion of Strength
(stamina) to be an excellent idea. Mainly because I've never played this game before and have no idea how likely Skill is to go down. Not really worried about luck since part of its usage is disabled. If it weren't for that, I'd go for the luck potion, given its excellent initial roll and strong combat potential.

I don't suppose there's an option to test the ice bridge first? Meh, if it's a bridge it'll probably hold. Visibility is probably too poor to tell how far the crevasse extends, so no way to predict how long it will take to go around.
I vote for the
Bridge
Wait. What the heck is an ice bridge doing here? Who the heck would (or
could
) make a bridge out of ice? I bet it's the front gate to something.

To me, crossing the bridge is the obvious option. That's what made me stop and think. Because as you said, the obvious option tends to be the wrong one in fiction, esp. mystery-type fiction.

Decent chance those footprints belong to whoever or whatever we're tracking. Also, if we spend any time looking through the inside of the hut we're likely to be surprised by its owner if I know anything about fictional tropes. Following the footprints though is likely to run us into unexpected trouble... I don't suppose there's an option to wait outside the hut? No, waiting is always useless. Frying pan or fire, hm...
Heck with it, we're supposed to be tracking this thing.

It's amazing what a difference a single point of Skill makes. If what we've faced so far is representative of the future, or if the battles are going to keep getting harder, I'm beginning to regret not taking the stamina potion.

Tell him I have come to join the Snow Witch's followers.
I believe in following Rule #1: Don't Piss Off The Locals. As well as Rule #3: Exploit Everything.
(From the Interdimensional Traveler's SurvivalHandbook by the main character of the Best SI Fanfic Ever, Sleeping With the Girls by AdmiralTigerclaw of SamuraiPenguinStudios. (Despite the name, there's no inappropriate content, just good old trying to keep from being fried/smashed to a pulp/sliced and diced in worlds that outclass you by several orders of magnitude.))

Ooh, tough one.
Let's see... If we climb up, they're liable to take us prisoner or something. If we pull on the rope, we're still trapped. Stuck between a rock and a hard place...

If you find yourself forgetting games, at the bottom of each page there's a "Bookmark topic" link which lets you store all your active games in one place. I discovered it recently and have been using it ever since.
