General

I.

Posting and Voting

I.

I hereby reserve the colours

II.

All votes must be written in

or use the VOTE: Player tag. Unvotes are helpful, but not necessary.

All votes must be at the beginning of a new line and cannot be contained inside quote, code, area, or spoiler tags.

A lynch is reached when a majority of all players (half plus one) are voting for the same target.

V.

If a majority is not reached by the deadline, a No Lynch will occur.

Activity and Deadlines

I.

Failure to post within 48 hours without advance notice will result in a prod.

II.

You have 24 hours to respond to a prod, lest you be replaced. Regardless, three prods will result in a force-replacement.

III.

Please give notice of extended leave in-thread or via PM.

IV.

Each Day Phase will last two weeks (14 days) and each Night Phase will last 48 hours. Extensions will be given in case of replacements.

V.

A missed Night Action will result in a No Action, or a randomized target if the player has the Compulsive modifier.

I.

This is a very serious mafia game. No joking or fooling around of any sort will be tolerated.

II.

This setup does follow the rules set in the Normal Game Guidelines.

III.

However, these rules have been heavily exploited and twisted. This game would likely be considered

bastard

by most.

IV.

This setup has not been reviewed and is likely very swingy/unbalanced.

V.

I will not lie to you. Some things may be intentionally misleading, but such is the nature of a bastard game.

I did that to mess with you guys. I wanted to see if people would still remember it as we got later into the game (it was never really mentioned again) but it was just a fun thing to keep you on your toes... and maybe a little bit for my own amusement.

Now, many of you voiced concern - whether it was here, via PM, or in the dead thread - that the setup was not Normal. And I do admit that I did stray away from the Guidelines accidentally. To understand fully, you need to understand how the design process worked. Originally, this was going to be just a bastard game, no other catch. But when I was looking for inspiration in the Normal Role list, I realized that there were several combinations that would technically be "Normal" but would produce a bastard result. It was going to be just that until I decided to advertise it publicly as "following the Normal Guidelines". One rule I accidentally broke was Werewolf Masons. The split scum-team was the first idea I had for this setup, and they were originally Neighbours. Late in the design process (probably one of the last things I did), I switched them to Masons without really double-checking the Guidelines. The Open Setup Masons and Monks was my inspiration for Werewolf Masons, but I didn't realize that scum Masons are against Normal Guidelines because the Mason role itself only specifies "not Mafia". Sorry about that, folks.

I know I answered a few PMs with "I'll discuss this in post-game", so if you think I owe you an answer, speak up here because I don't remember and I don't know if I've covered it already.

I'd definitely recommend reading the mason thread with the thought in mind that they didn't know they were partners. At one point they started crumbing "traitor".
