[LGT] Game 8: 1,2,3 Game [Game Over]

With 7 rounds played, the number of players is now in the single digits. The game rooms feel far emptier, than they did before. This becomes obvious when you are taken to the room in the basement, where PiggyGal15 and puzzledan squared off for a game of Quattro. There are fewer chairs, and the room feels much more cavernous than before. The familiar mask of Artier appears on a screen.

"Ladies and gentlemen, congratulations on making it to what is essentially the half-way point of the tournament. For the next game, you will be facing off in one-on-one competitions. For these competitions you will use three types of cards, with varying strength. Good luck."

Description.

In this game, your goal is to get as many points as possible in one-on-one competitions against the other players.

Rules.

- Each player will be given 9 cards. 3 cards will have the number "1" on them. 3 cards will have the number "2" on them. The final 3 cards will have the number "3" on them.
- These cards can be exchanged freely between players. A player wishing to transfer cards to another player must send them and me a PM, stating what cards they wish to give. The receiving player must also send a message, stating whether they accept the cards. If the cards are not accepted within 24 hours, the trade will not take place.
- At any point, a player may challenge another player to some number of matches, by calling "
Challenge: [Player's Name], X matches
". At this point, the challenged player can either "
Accept
", or "
Reject
".
- Once a challenge is accepted for X matches, the two competing players will send me a message with the X cards they wish to use, in the order they wish to use them. The results will then be announced in-thread. The cards used are then removed from the game.
- In each match, the strength of the cards used is compared. The player who used a higher number wins points equal to the difference of the two cards. Additionally, the losing player pays the winning player $50,000. In the case of a tie, neither player wins any points, nor money.
- After 10 days, or once there aren't enough cards to have more matches (whichever comes first), the game will be over. Any player who still has cards at that point will have their points reduced to -5.
- At the end of the game, each player will receive $20,000 per point they have (including negative points).
- The player with the least points will be eliminated. In the case of a tie, the player with the least amount in their account will be eliminated. The amount in the eliminated player's account will be recorded as their score, and, if positive, will be distributed amongst the remaining players.
- Private communication is allowed at all times.

You will now have 24 hours to familiarise yourselves with the rules. (expired on 2015-01-02 10:47:20)

So cards used in a matchup get discarded afterwards?

That is correct. Edited the rules to clarify this.

No, just the results, i.e. victories, losses, and ties.

Just to be clear, everyone currently has 9 cards (as described in the rules), and can begin competing with others.

And I'm back. Given the delay, I will extend the game by 48 hours, starting now.
