How the hell is it an obscure reference? I understood it instantly.
for some reason i think your being aware of some icon doesn't automatically mean it isn't obscure

it's a play on the phrase "tongue in cheek"?
or do you think tongue and beak implies something better?

The way I see it, the many MD threads are just a symptom of the same drive to see himself typing. And the whole idea behind verbosity is that the things mastin produces aren't comparatively dense in content.

It looks to me like mastin is rejecting titles because they don't suit his megalomania, not because they're bad.

The Second Coming

It's perfect. For me, the central subject is his megalomania, everything else about mastin just justifies making this the perfect representation of that megalomania.

You're missing the full significance of the title for a guy like mastin.
First, he's mastin2. MS received the second coming of mastin in order to be graced with mastin's mad skillz 2.0.
Second, he's an avid cult leader (check out his threads)
and megalomaniacal to the core - like anyone willing to compare himself to Jesus, either with PhotoShop, or with WWMD? memes.
like anyone who expects anyone to read the enormously long sermons that he regularly graces the world with
he even LOOKS like he's the second coming
Mastin thinks he's the shit; it's as if he's the second coming, itself.
But the way the title works is playful rather than satirical or snide. Being a megalomaniac has been shown to be an important prerequisite for being a good world leader. It's a pithy reference to loads of things about mastin at once without ever implying anything besides those things or existing merely to stoke an ego or quip about his post lengths which so many people argue "is not who mastin is".
It's perfect.

I feel like "Trojan" just underscores the premise of "Butterfly" (unassuming but potent threat) without adding too much to it.

update: talks between me and esurio about the mass nomination began to break down after she insisted we refer to Skrew's title in our position statement as "utter shit" rather my preferred "parf", a portmanteau of "puke" and "barf" used earlier to rhetorically make fun of the color of Reck's username

we compromised on "just dumb" but by then it was clear we were of two minds concerning just how bad titles noms have been since mafia scum was founded like a decade ago
