Okay first off big props to Cheery Dog for graciously agreeing to give back his title. I was thinking about explaining why I did stuff the way that I did, but then I realized that it doesn't matter and nobody will care. Instead I'm going to make some new rules for the discussion of titles to replace the unwritten ones I've been going by (I don't think any previous Title Fairy has made such specific discussion process rules, but apparently I need that now).
I will only comment on a title nomination before it gets support from 5 people if I don't feel anything productive will come from discussing the nomination (eg generic short jokes for Mina).
If a nomination gets support from 5 people and I don't want to reject it at the time, it will remain open for discussion for another 48 hours. I may or may not provide my input about the nomination at this time. At the end of the 48 hours, I will reject the title, ask the nominee if they accept it, or give it to the nominee if they've already accepted it. The discussion period may be extended at my discretion.
I'm not going to put those in the OP just yet, because they may or may not change in the near future. Please give your input regarding these changes.
I don't have a problem with policy discussions in this thread right now. I'll let you know if I start feeling like they're a problem.
