TBH I agree with Pie/Esurio here... if the Pie thing is struck down because OTHER PEOPLE USE THAT PHRASE TOO! then the Anti one should be as well.
People still reference the Pie thing three years later. If a phrase has to be unique to be considered, then let's take a look at how many titles were already given out that are completely not unique in any way shape or form. And let's look at the fact that Anti's title is basically YOU DO A THING THAT OTHER PEOPLE DO ALL THE TIME

Plus, I generally dislike giving titles based on LMAO RAGE. It has happened before, which that alone makes the title pretty much not unique. UberNinja got one. kuribo got one. Fate got one. LLD got one. ABR got one? That's just off the top of my head. How is raging unique? How is it title-worthy? And does it not just encourage a potentially destructive type of behavior?

But smashing keys randomly isn't a big deal. It's something plenty of people do. I do it. UT has done it. People I play w/ and talk to all the time have done it. It's very commonplace.
My argument isn't necessarily that Antihero shouldn't get a title for it. My argument is that IF he does, then the "it's not unique" argument goes out the window.

P.edit: no problem, always here to point out when someone is being actively bad at their job. I'm also here when people do things well but that's a far rarer occurrence on MS it seems

The average player that's only been here three months isn't going to get a title. The point of the proposed rule change is for the "special" cases.
In post 122, quadz08 wrote:that said - re the pie "give me a title" thing. So because someone is bummed/frustrated about something that concerns them, it invalidates their opinion? I can see that meaning you take the opinion with a grain of salt, but to literally punish them for expressing their opinion is a whooooooooooole other thing.
Did it invalidate his opinion? No. I wouldn't have kept responding to him if it did. Did it make me take it with a grain of salt? Yup! The reason I took the discussion out of the thread was because we were clearly talking in circles/talking past each other/some form of bad talking.
Not giving someone a title when they go "it's bullshit that you're not giving me my title; give me my title" didn't start with me, and I'm not going to change it.

No, this isn't what happened, you're delusional. Pie argued against the policies in place that prevented him from getting a title. As did I. You responded by basicalky saying you wouldn't give a title to someone stomping his feet about not getting one which 1) isn't what was happening and 2) doesn't address the stupid double standard you're creating.

The entire concept of title fairy is a bit weird but an established part of the site, so why halfway break it? Either just get rid of the thing, or keep it as an actually exclusive thing.
This too
If we're throwing most of the old rules out of the window and lowering the monthly thing and bla bla bla what's the point in a title fairy anymore

I know it's just the Title Fairy and part of my irritability is probably due to me having very little sleep and just getting back from Stress Vacation The Musical, but I just think SleepyKrew made some flubs, and when faced with those flubs, he just buckled down.
I'll probably bow out because there's not much point in debating it further when he has said he's basically unwilling to compromise and will just enact his vision, so w/e

In general, no title fairy has been hands on like this. The Title Fairy is a ceremonial position. They're there to enact the will of the community while stepping in only when absolutely appropriate. Outright rejecting titles that have community support with no room for discussion is not how a TF should act imo

I got the same vibes from the situation as Marquis. It looked like you were being favorable to your friends, while being totalitarian against IPie.
I looked up the reference to the title. I feel two things: 1) Kayak is a bad title, and 2) doesn't in my mind meet the unspoken threshold that a title should
It seems like only a few people know about the inside joke and even fewer call him Kayak.
The whole process surrounding that title looked capricious and hypocritical in light of other issues we have had in the recent past.

even looking back at the titles TBM gave out over his last year here, the great ones were the ones that had an actual thing behind them that caused the title rather than SO AND SO NEEDS A TITLE, LET'S FIND ONE FOR THEM

MVP is because...she shot scum correctly in the large theme? I mean, I guess I see it, but "MVP" alone is more Scummie-worthy than anything, since every game has an MVP
and making the rest of her title all about her being poly is just zzzzz and is a matter of making a small part of you the biggest part about you. I'm not "GD is my GAYMAN" or whatever. It just feels cheap to make her being poly the most important thing about her
I'd prefer something that plays off of her habit to drink wine then drunkpost on MS, and also her habit of flirting with the boys on the site and making them go starry eyed over her. Something like
Lushty
. Okay not that either. But you get the gist.
