Gragas was going to be my next buy if I didn't want to save up for Ekko. And I've been wanting to try Janna. I don't like Blitz.

Also lol at Bard because he's the only thing I've ever refunded

I've actually been thinking about getting back on the league train since Heroes of the Storm balance has made it unplayable for me.

How's the game right now? I hear it's a pretty hefty tank meta.

It's winding down a bit (partly due t damage nerfs on the tank jungle item, and somewhat due to upcoming nerfs on said junglers).

it's not "not die"
it's "don't feed to the point of no return"

like

0/2 and 50cs down in lane top and farming under turret is ok
0/4 and equal cs but enemy riven pushed to inner turret with a hydra and brut at 15 min because you kept trying to 1v1 her is not

giving up dragon is ok
flashing over wall to try to smite steal 1v5 is not

if you feed to the point where even your team cant help you, you lose

how do you maximize your odds of winning when it starts to become clear that your team is doing badly
do you just keep pushing lane?
do you leave lane (to a teammate) to go help?
do you hunt down enemy champions?

I think to rise anywhere you need to be taking the wins yourself.

The thing is you're always going to be a feeding idiot in some games.

If by pressing more advantages you can be a feeding idiot once more in 100 games but dominate 5 lanes hard enough to win 2 more games, your winrate goes up 1%.

that's the way I see it, at least.

I find myself having a really hard time carrying out of top lane.

I can win lane as adc/support and carry just fine, or win multiple lanes as jungle. But whenever I play top, I usually win my lane and at least half the time watch hopelessly as the rest of the map falls to shit. I usually play Gnar or Mao, if they're available. Gnar I can be split push master and at least create map control issues for the other team, but I feel useless as Maokai even when I get way ahead. Maybe I just need to play more hard-carry style top laners?

EDIT: Like my most recent game as Maokai, I came out of lane 0/0/1 and up 60 cs on their Zed, but the rest of my team was like 2/12 at that point and we wound up surrendering at like 25 minutes. Our "support" Amumu never bought a Sightstone or a ward, so I couldn't TP to teamfights or anything. Best I could do was make Zed useless, but my team completely flubbed everything else.

When playing your disfavored role, staying even in lane and hoping for the best from your team is a pretty solid strategy.

If a tea fight is about to happen, say "tp is up" or "no tp." It usually makes the support drop a ward.
